In the application you will find ideas for games aimed at strengthening the relationship with nature. The common phenomenon of all activities is the minimum of aids, but more often no aids and usually also low preparation requirements. The application offers such activities, which are primarily about developing the ability to focus on nature, be aware of details and units, reflect its aesthetic value and strengthen its perception as an attractive place.
Here you will find games and games less sophisticated and complex, but always those whose primary goal is experience, not a specific skill or final product. We chose activities for everyone, from small children to adults, as well as more demanding and longer experiential games for use in camps.
The individual games are arranged so that they can be sorted according to the sense you choose to use to perceive nature (sight, touch, hearing, smell and taste or combinations), and according to the element (fire, earth, water, air) you want pay. All senses and elements are preset. However, you must choose the environment (stream, pond, forest, meadow, rock), you can specify the weather or time of day (night, snow and ice, rain) and the seasons.
The challenging task was to find the individual games and activities of the authors. We often play them with children in nature with changes for decades, and when we search the literature, we cannot find out which author mentioned the activity first.
The key authors who still influence Czech environmental education on the topic of sensitivity to nature are Steve van Matre and Bruce Johnson and their Walks on Earth, and then Joseph Cornell and his bestseller Discovering Nature. We have been playing their games with various variations with children for decades. They are described in detail in these publications, so we will refer to them. Other ideas are from the workshops of Chaloupek, Rezekvítek, Lipka or NORTH, others taken from older publications.
If you want this set of games and photos in paper form, you can find the book Love Nature in the e-shops chaloupky.cz and rezekvitek.cz.
