About this app

No registration. The app is simple to use and works completely offline.

GhostCam is an app that’s not easy to define but I’ll try. Point your phone's cam at anything you fancy. Make a slightest movement with your hand and the scene will get blurry. Do it in a more pronounced way and things will get mixed up and become dreamlike. It’s like your camera is possessed by a ghost :) That kind of graphical manipulation is indeed sometimes referred to as a ghosting.

You can obtain several effects in a process such as: posterization, more or less abstract “painting”, motion blur, double or multiple exposures. It could be in black & white (more ghostly) or in color. Or it could be a blend of two worlds. The more you move your phone around (don’t drop it!) the more abstract and ethereal things become, to the point that ordinary and otherwise easily recognizable and stable objects are reduced to faint textures. Of course, that textures can be saved and later used for a lot of things - your creativity is the limit. So there’s no limit. Just make sure your phone has at least decent specs.

MENUS are self-explanatory but I’ll explain every option anyway:
Switch – switches cam from back-front & back again (not so linear but you’ll see for yourself)
Flash – flash on/off
Stop/Start – stop/starts camera; it will attempt to freeze the scene, but be aware that stopping (or starting) will be GRADUAL, so the image will keep on changing for a while
Snap – takes the photo & saves it to your phones’ gallery
GBUST – when spooky but harmless ghosts become too annoying just push the red button and the ghostbusters will swiftly cleanse the place (it’s on the house) - only for a short while though; also use this option when returning to GhostCam after switching between apps to REFRESH it
Numbers at the bottom – makes things appear more or less ghostly (/1 to /8 with default value being /3)

Another thing to try with GC is to tap once on lower half of the “viewport”. The world will regain its colors. Tap again to reverse the effect. You can do it even when the camera is stopped.

A few HINTS. Point the back camera to some patterns of grass, clouds, fire, water etc., and press “switch” to switch to the front camera. While it’s transitioning, take a photo. You’ll get a selfie mixed with an image from the back camera. OR try shooting light trails at night - GhostCam loves it!

We offer a fully functional DEMO (without N) to ensure compatibility with your device. However, it only saves photos that are 200px on their longer side (very small & of very low quality). For HD capture grab the regular version which you can get for a small one-time fee. I would be really happy to offer everything I made for free but that’s not very realistic option, since my finances are seriously limited.

My advice: try GhostCamDemo first! If it happens that something of importance don’t work for you there’s really no point in purchasing full version. So if that’s the case please don’t do that. You can DOWNLOAD DEMO here:

Despite occasionally using the first-person plural, I’m a solo developer. I am dedicated to creating some experimental graphical stuff, often offering it to the community for free. If you feel like buying me a coffee or even a donut, I won't say no. My PAYPAL: lordian12345@yahoo.com

After donating (donuting), as a humble thank you, I'll create (if you want me to) a unique digital piece of generative abstract art just for you (non-AI one, nothing’s wrong with AI but that’s just too easy) and send it to your email address as a PNG picture file - with your explicit permission of course.

You could also use the email address above to send me a suggestion regarding the app.

Maybe it’s worth mentioning that we fully RESPECT your PRIVACY. It goes without saying that we don’t have access to your cam view or your saved pics, of course.

THANKS for being a part of this journey, enjoy and God bless.
