MiGanado is an app for keeping individual records of your cattle from the farm, even without a signal.
Everything you record is saved first on your phone. When the connection is restored, the app syncs the data with the cloud, so you don't depend on a notebook or internet access in the barn.
ANIMAL REGISTRATION
• Create a record for each animal: name or number, sex, breed, exact or estimated date of birth, and photo.
• Register the sire and dam to track the herd's genealogy.
• Remove an animal from the registry without deleting its history.
NFC TAG IDENTIFICATION
• Hold your phone near the animal's NFC tag and instantly open its record.
• If you don't have an NFC reader, enter the tag code by hand.
• If a tag is lost, assign a new one and keep the entire history.
WEIGHTS AND EVENTS
• Record weights manually or receive them from a compatible scale via Wi-Fi.
• Record vaccinations, births, and other health and management events, with their dates.
• View the complete history of each animal in seconds.
HERD INDICATORS
• Inventory of active animals.
• Weight and daily gain trends.
• Animals with pending weigh-ins.
• Events by type and by month.
• Completeness of your herd's history.
TEAMWORK
• Two roles: Rancher (owner) and Operator.
• Invite your workers with a code so they can register from their own cell phones.
• If two people edit the same animal without a signal, the app saves both versions and lets you choose which one to keep, without losing any information.
YOUR FARM
• Register the name and location of your property.
IMPORTANT
• An internet connection is required to create an account, log in for the first time, invite users, and sync.
• NFC reading works with 13.56 MHz NFC tags. It does not read official low-frequency RFID tags (134.2 kHz).
• MiGanado is not an official application of the ICA or SINIGAN, does not connect to those systems, and does not replace the records required by regulations.
• It requires an Android phone with NFC for tag scanning.
MiGanado was developed as a Systems and Computer Engineering thesis project at the Catholic University of Colombia.
