नाम जप (Naam Japa) is a quiet space for the ancient practice of naam
japa - repeating the divine name as devotion and meditation.
The app offers two traditional ways to practise.
LIKHIT JAP - WRITING THE NAME
Trace the Hindi name on screen with your finger. The pen is matched to
the thickness of the letters, so a natural writing stroke fills them in.
The count advances only when the whole name has been covered, so each
repetition is a complete one. The name is spoken once as you finish it,
and the letters appear in a fresh colour each time.
MALA JAP - COUNTING THE BEADS
Pull a strand of rudraksha beads downward with your finger, one bead per
pull, up to the traditional 108. A small mala in the corner shows how far
around you have travelled, with the meru bead moving as you go.
