I guess you know your new version sucks when you need to keep the old one around just to keep your users happy. The new version needs a less bland looking UI, a setting to open full articles directly, and the list view option. Both versions can use a dark mode with more contrast, e.g. Google News. Anyway, thanks for keeping this version around.

Back in the day I used the Pulse News app, and I still miss the design to this day. Then LinkedIn bought Pulse and proceeded to release a new (and absolutely neutered and godawful) version of the app, leaving behind tons of long-term users. So I migrated over to Feedly and enjoyed it a lot for a few years, only for the design to be completely overhauled in a way that removed functionality I enjoyed while adding nothing of value. Now I have to download a separate app just to continue with an experience that didn't need to be changed in the first place. I would look for a new news aggragator, but the odds seem to be in favor of it being ruined a couple years after I start using it.

Hi Tim. The new design is a work in progress. You should install the Feedly Lab and help us improve the app going forward: https://blog.feedly.com/introducing-the-mobileai-lab/

Far more readable than the new Feedly. Has all the things the new version got rid of: Distinct visual separation between headline and excerpt, Mark as Read button in the same place each time, consistent number of articles per screen scroll, let me count the ways. The new version feels like the predecessor with some fluid animations which serve to distract rather than enhance.
