This is a dinosaur quiz game designed for children who love dinosaurs. Even if they cannot read yet, they can guess the names using pictures and sounds and fill out the encyclopedia of 60 species.
■ Guess the Name
Hidden pictures are revealed little by little. Recognizing them first earns you a higher score, and if you don't know, you can press a hint to reveal more pictures. Descriptions are also provided—written in language children can understand, such as "It is a very small carnivorous dinosaur about the size of a chicken" or "It has a long tail, so it maintains good balance."
You have three lives. The game does not end immediately if you get it wrong; you can think again. If you guess correctly, that creature is added to the encyclopedia. Even if you run out of lives, you can use one stamp collected in the Memory Game to continue playing.
■ Comparison Game
Place two creatures side by side and choose the longer one or the shorter one, or the heavier one or the lighter one. What you are looking for is indicated not by text, but by two footprint pictures—if the large footprint is darker, it is the larger one; if the small footprint is darker, it is the smaller one. Even if they cannot read, they can understand the questions.
** When comparing lengths, a silhouette matching the actual proportions is displayed alongside the numbers — the visual representation of "this much difference" is more memorable than the numbers themselves.
■ Memory Game
Show the cards for 3 seconds, then flip them all over. If you find two identical dinosaurs, they are enlarged to show what they ate and when they lived. The board starts with 8 cards and expands to 12 and then 16.
Only dinosaurs encountered in the encyclopedia appear on the cards. As you discover new ones through the "Guess the Name" game, the number of dinosaurs appearing on the cards increases.
You receive a stamp after completing a round. Stamps can be exchanged for a heart if you run out of lives in the "Guess the Name" game.
■ 60 Species in the Encyclopedia
It includes 42 types of dinosaurs, 9 types of pterosaurs, and 9 types of marine reptiles. It also informs you that pterosaurs and marine reptiles are not dinosaurs.
Tapping on a discovered creature displays its size, era, diet, and characteristics. Newly discovered creatures are marked to indicate which ones you haven't opened yet.
■ Leaderboard
You can compare yourself to others based on two criteria: your highest score per game and your total accumulated score. We have included both a ranking system where you improve by playing well and one where you improve simply by playing.
■ Because It’s an App for Children
- There is no sign-up or login required. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number.
- Names on the leaderboard are automatically generated from a predefined list. There is no way for children to enter their real names.
- No advertisements are placed on the problem-solving screen. This prevents children from accidentally clicking on ads even if they randomly tap the screen.
- We do not use interstitial ads.
- Ads are set to target children, and we only display ads for users who have disabled personalized ads and remarketing.
- We have blocked two-finger zooming. This prevents the screen from shaking when a child with small hands holds the device.
- If a user attempts to exit during gameplay, the app will ask for permission.
■ Things to Note
- An internet connection is required.
- The Pokedex and scores are saved on the device. They will disappear if you delete the app data.
- The 60 images were created using generative AI. The source is disclosed in the "Image Source" section within the app. Privacy Policy: https://dinodex.devs-jun.com/privacy
