About this app

Lock Button Helper locks your phone's screen with one tap, without pressing the side (power) button. It is made for anyone who finds the side button hard to press, has a worn or broken button, or simply wants to lock the phone faster.

👋 WAKE WITHOUT THE BUTTON (FREE)
Screen off and the side button does not work? Turn on the options you like:
• Wave your hand twice over the top of the phone
• Take the phone out of your pocket or bag
• Pick the phone up from the table
• Shake the phone (light, medium or strong)
The app also shows other ways to wake your phone: fingerprint, charger, or your phone's own double tap to wake.

🔐 LOCK, UNLOCK AND VOICE
• Lock automatically when the phone stays in a pocket or face down (never during a call)
• Tips to unlock without the button: Smart Lock, fingerprint and face unlock
• Use your voice: “Hey Google” with Voice Match, or Google's Voice Access app

✋ UNLOCK AS USUAL
The screen locks just like with the side button. Your PIN, pattern, fingerprint and face unlock keep working exactly as before.

A short step-by-step setup explains everything, lets you test the lock and helps you add the widget or tile. A free high-contrast theme makes everything easier to see.

♿ HOW IT WORKS (ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE)
Android lets apps lock the screen only through an Accessibility service. Lock Button Helper uses this service only to lock the screen when you tap one of its lock buttons and, for the wake and lock options you turn on, to turn the screen on or lock it using the phone's proximity and motion sensors. Sensor readings stay on your phone. It does not read your screen, does not see what you type, and collects no personal data through this service. The app explains this before you turn the service on, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.
