About this app

WatchSky is a Wear OS watch face that paints the real sky on your wrist.

The background is a continuous gradient built from eleven atmospheric stages: astronomical twilight, nautical twilight, blue hour, civil twilight, golden hour, zenith, and all the way back down again. It never snaps between a "day" picture and a "night" picture: every stage crossfades into the next, so the sky at 6:40 genuinely differs from the sky at 7:10. Above it, the sun and the moon ride an arc across the dial, tracking the hour.

☀️ LIVING SKY GRADIENT
Eleven time-of-day stages, blended continuously. No jumps, no repeats, no two hours alike.

🌙 LIVE MOON PHASE
The moon draws its true current phase from the synodic month — illumination and all. Prefer a particular look? Pick any of the eight classic phases.

🌅 YOUR SUNRISE, YOUR SUNSET
Set dawn anywhere from 4–7 AM and dusk from 5–9 PM. The entire sky re-times around your choice, along with the sun and moon arc — not just a label, the actual gradient.

🌦️ WEATHER-AWARE SKY
Optional. When on, the face reads your weather and shifts its palette: overcast mutes the golden hour, storms darken the sky. A translucent condition icon sits on the dial.

🔋 CONFIGURABLE MIDDLE BAR
A slim progress bar under the time showing seconds, minutes, or battery level. Or switch it off entirely.

⌚ BUILT FOR ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY
A dedicated ambient layout with a lighter clock weight, plus a toggle to keep or hide your complication in AOD.

📅 AND THE SMALL THINGS
Toggleable date, optional border shadow, and a long-text complication slot at the bottom — set to your next calendar event out of the box.

NO APP BEHIND IT

WatchSky is written entirely in Watch Face Format, the declarative format Wear OS renders itself. There is no background app, and nothing to trust.

Requires Wear OS 6 or newer.

A phone companion is included with the same install to help you get the face onto your watch. To set it: long-press your current watch face, swipe to "+", and choose WatchSky.
