About this app

DicomLens is a fast, private DICOM viewer for Android. Open CT, MRI, X-ray, mammography, ultrasound and angiography studies directly from files, folders or ZIP archives — no account, no upload, no internet required.

Built for radiologists, residents, medical students, technologists, veterinarians and patients who want to look at their own scans on a phone or tablet.

VIEW LIKE A WORKSTATION
• Window/level (brightness & contrast) with a single-finger drag or sliders
• CT presets: brain, subdural, stroke, soft tissue, liver, mediastinum, lung, bone, angio — plus custom values
• Pinch to zoom, double-tap to zoom, pan, rotate, flip, invert, fit to screen
• Scroll through a series slice by slice, or play a stack as cine
• Multi-frame cine playback (XA angiography, ultrasound loops, cardiac cine) at native frame rate
• Full-screen immersive mode with corner overlays: patient, study, slice location, thickness, zoom, WL/WW

MEASURE
• Length in millimetres and angle measurements calibrated from Pixel Spacing
• Clear, re-measure, reset

UNDERSTAND YOUR FILES
• Study browser with thumbnails, grouped by patient / study / series
• Study info dialog and a complete, searchable DICOM tag viewer (VR, tag names, transfer syntax)
• Share the current view as a PNG

IMPORT ANYTHING
• Multiple files, entire folders (recursive), ZIP archives (even nested), DICOMDIR-style CD exports
• Open .dcm files from Files, Drive, e-mail or any app via "Open with" / "Share to DicomLens"
• Sample studies built in so you can try every feature immediately

BROAD FORMAT SUPPORT — DECODED ON DEVICE
• Explicit / Implicit VR Little Endian, encapsulated pixel data
• JPEG 2000 (lossless and lossy), JPEG Lossless, RLE Lossless, JPEG baseline
• 8/12/16-bit, signed and unsigned, MONOCHROME1/MONOCHROME2, RGB, palette colour, multi-frame
• Rescale slope/intercept (Hounsfield units), window presets from the file, MONOCHROME1 inversion

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything stays on your device. DicomLens has no servers, no analytics and no ads.
• Internet is used only if you tap "Download sample studies".

Works on phones and tablets (two-column library on large screens), light on memory even with large series thanks to lazy, background decoding.

IMPORTANT: DicomLens is a general-purpose image viewer and is not a medical device. It is not intended for primary diagnosis or treatment decisions. Measurements are approximate and depend on the metadata in the files.
