About this app

Wyrm Math turns algebra into something you solve with your hands. Drag a term across the equals sign, pull out a shared factor, cancel, distribute — every move is a real algebraic step, and the equation transforms as you go.

The twist: you literally can't make an illegal move. The app only ever offers transformations that are mathematically valid, so you can experiment freely and trust that anything you derive is actually true. No guessing, no "wrong answer" buzzers — just algebra you can feel.

WHAT YOU CAN SOLVE
• Linear equations — one-step, two-step, and variables on both sides
• Distribution and combining like terms
• Fractions and clearing denominators
• Powers and roots
• Quadratics — including the quadratic formula, step by step
• Systems of equations
• Inequalities

LEARN, DON'T JUST ANSWER
• Guide me — gentle, tap-by-tap hints that show your next move without doing it for you
• Every solution is a full, replayable set of steps
• Check your answer and explore "what if" instantly
• Tap Random problem in any topic for endless, guaranteed-solvable practice

NEW: GAME MODE
A star-rated campaign across 7 stages — solve each equation in as few moves as possible and beat par to earn three stars. A relaxed algebra game you can't lose, but can always get better at.

BUILT FOR REAL LEARNING
Great for students working through homework, adults refreshing pre-algebra and algebra, homeschoolers, and anyone who wants the concepts to finally click through hands-on practice.

HONEST AND PRIVATE
• One-time purchase — no subscription, ever
• No ads, no account, no analytics
• Works fully offline

Real notation. Real equations. Learn algebra by moving it.

The idea at its core: only legal moves are possible. Equations change only through sound algebraic rules, so you can never make an invalid step. Explore, experiment, and trust that every move is real algebra. And everything is exact — true fractions and exact roots, never rounded-off decimals.

Stuck? Two kinds of help:
• Guide me — an interactive coach. A finger shows you the next move, then waits for you to do it. It adapts to wherever you are, so you learn by doing, not by watching.
• Solution Search — let the app find a complete solution and play it through, step by step (beta).

What Wyrm solves:
• Linear equations — one side or both, with parentheses and fractions
• Inequalities, including the sign-flip when you divide by a negative
• Powers and quotients of powers
• Quadratics — every kind: factoring, the zero-product rule, square roots, and the quadratic formula. Exact irrational answers like (−1 ± √5)/2, simplified radicals like √8 → 2√2, and an honest "no real solution" when there isn't one.

Built for learning:
• A purpose-built math keypad — every symbol one tap away, with a live preview as you type
• A tool palette that surfaces the quadratic formula when it applies — you choose to use it
• Undo/redo, a full step history, and clear tracking of any assumptions a step relies on
• Worked examples across every topic

Private by design: No ads. No accounts. No analytics or tracking. No data collected, and no internet required — everything runs on your device.

Wyrm is for students learning algebra, anyone brushing up, and the curious who want to feel how equations move. It's a calculator you can struggle in — and that's the point. The journey, not just the destination.

What’s new

What's new in 1.5

• Solve quadratics in any form — type it however you like (5x + 2x² = 3, x·2x + x·5 = 3…) and drag it all the way to the answer.
• Roots you can work by hand — take the cube root (or any nth root) of both sides, then simplify it yourself, step by step.
• Smoother Guide Me, plus fixes and under-the-hood improvements.
