The app is no longer separate from Google. It uses Google speak to operate the microphone. I had tried earlier and it wouldn't register my speech. I checked to make sure the microphone permission was set for the app and tried again. I had to give Google the permission to get the app to work. How is that supposed to work offline? Needs to be corrected. I have been using the app for a long time without trouble until recently. Now my recent file is also hidden since update.

I just launched this app for the first time tonight. The notice that this app "displays ads" is not really good enough. The ads in this app are full screen, with loud audio, very intrusive and unacceptable. I'll be uninstalling this app tonight and going back to using just the website, where ads are far less annoying, when I have to use this dictionary.

Been using this app for a long time. NOT digging INCESSANT ads that plague it (& have for a while now). I've even pd for the "ad-less" version. Not only same# of ads, but I'm also out the $ too. Too bad. It HAD been, in my opinion, the best app, for a long time, as far as dict/thes apps go. It was a great source of info, useful for creative writing tips & syn/ant info, etc. I've been EXTREMELY disappointed w/ it since the onset of the incessant ads & typically use a few others instead.

What's new

This release removes the trending words ticker on the home screen and brings improves some app performance. Also, users should only see the speaker icon for words and phrases that actually have pronunciation audio.
