In the "Press" app you will find constantly updated information on what is really important. As well as in the two new meta-headings Opinion and Magazine the strongest arguments on current topics and extensively researched reading pieces with depth.

You can download the latest edition of the printed "press" the evening before as an ePaper in the usual newspaper layout.

• Opinion: The "press" editorial team provides the most important arguments on current issues. This is how you can form your own opinion. Guest commentators ensure that the entire spectrum of opinions is represented.

• Magazine: Discover new things and broaden your knowledge horizons. Reading pleasure beyond the daily news - with in-depth research and well-founded analyzes from the "press" editorial team.

FUNCTIONS

• Offline mode: Once loaded, you can read the latest news and your ePaper issues at any time, even without internet access - for example on the plane or train.

• Push messages: You will immediately receive a push message in the event of breaking news and particularly important events. You can simply deactivate this function at any time.

• Dark mode: customize the appearance of the app according to your preferences - and switch between light and dark display depending on the situation or needs.

• Follow authors: Choose the authors you want to follow. You will receive a push notification as soon as they have published a new article.

• Watchlist: Save articles in order to read them later - by clicking on the bookmark symbol. In addition, you have quick access to the articles that you last read and want to find quickly.

• Podcast player: Listen to the new episodes conveniently with the integrated podcast player - and get notified as soon as a new episode is available.

• Comment: Read comments from our readers on articles and topics - and join the discussion.

Update: Links are now opened in the app. Lags are mostly gone. It still asks for cookies from time to time though. It's a shame it took so long but the app can be called decent now. I'd still wish for more settings, especially regarding abo-services. It sends you to the mobile website and nothing really works as it should. Minor nitpick though.

Sadly very unstable, lots of crashes. Edit: Happens particularly often when loading articles with lot of pictures (might also happen with ad pictures). Article is readable for a few seconds, followed by crash.

What's the point of having this app without subscription? Even in the "Was Sie heute wissen sollten" section there are about two articles not marked premium. There are other newspapers covering the same event, why put non-exclusive content behind a paywall. If this continues or gets worse I will definetly delete the app.
