How to use Digimarc Discover to scan Digimarc Barcodes in Product Packaging. Print & Audio Media

1. Look for special icons or other messaging in the print or audio media indicating that it is Digimarc Barcode-enhanced.
2. Open the Digimarc Discover app.
3. For print: hold your phone 4-7” away from the interactive image and let your camera focus on any part of the image. For audio*: no action is required. Just make sure the audio is enabled, you have provided permission for the app to access your microphone, and that the microphone is not blocked by your hand.
4. Enjoy accessing online content from the world around you!

All the Barcodes on the book I bought say their expired ... good to know. At least it doesn't rely on this app as I can still use the book without it. Would have been cool if it worked .. will be uninstalling

What happened The app was great and very helpful, now it will not work at all. Very disappointing that this went down hill so fast. I kept it on my phone hoping that the app will be fixed, but no such luck. Sad to say, that I will be removing the app. Such a waste.

Wish it worked I have used this in the past and it worked pretty well. Now it is not even playing the videos it will focus but it won't play them.

This used to work Don't know what changed but now the Discover part doesn't work which makes the app useless which is really too bad because I enjoyed pinning recipes to use for later.

Stopped working It used to work, although never reliably. Recently it has stopped working altogether. Too bad cause it was awesome to be able to conveniently store recipes.

Great when it works .....which it rarely does. I'll be saving away and then it stops working. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. It's a great concept; too bad I can't use it.

Worked on previous version With the update, I can't get it to work on the Sept issue of Health. Previous version comment: In the June issue of Health I was able to load all pgs except pg 33. Some pgs were instantly discovered except for pg 56 which took a few minutes.

Partly works After 45 min trying to scan any one of five images, it finally "discovered ONE! But it linked to Golf magazine on the internet. The one i really wanted to see wouldn't play at all. Two others played but no motion or sound. Waste of time. Easier to go online and look for videos, and just read the magazine. ASUS 32GB MEMO TABLET, ANDROID 4.2 8/11/15 Tried v 5.3.2. Worked better but requires Chrome to be installed. Sorry, but very little better. Uninstalled again. Won' t try 3rd time.

Waste of My Time Despite following the directions and after trying all sorts of lighting conditions and settings, I couldn't get this app to scan one single thing. Very disappointing.

Awful You do what it says but it still won't read the image. You have to refresh the thing three times before the camera actual works. most of the time the camera flashes like its taking multiple pictures, but its not. Just a glitch obviously ... I hate this thing so much.

Doesn't work anymore Loved, loved this app so when I got my new phone I was devastated when I lost everything I had scanned from Cooking light so installed it the other day on my Samsung s6 and it doesn't work. Been reading the reviews to see I'm not the only one. 5 stars when it worked and I have no idea why its not now but I gave it 1 star because there wasn't a zero. My friend tried on her iPhone and it didn't work for her either. Very disappointing. Amazing app that needs to be fixed, please.

Won't work in golf magazine Try to use this app for one of the golf lessons and golf magazine on page 50 of the latest one all it kept doing was shutting down this app simply just doesn't work and yes it is an interactive video thank you have a great day

Digimarc App -doesn't work This app does not work. I downloaded it to my Android and tried scanning some items in the June 2015 issue of Health Magazine but to no avail. It looked like it was scanning but my hand got tired holding my phone over the photo it took so long and all to get nothing. I was expecting something like Shazam where it only takes a few seconds and the phone vibrates to let you know it picked up a song or not. In this case, there was no indication of an image being picked up or not. I'm sure manufacturers of products who think we consumers are getting "where to purchase" details will be very surprised at this. I've also contacted Health magazine twice now and no reply with information. Very disappointing in this age of technology and instantaneous information. We're all impatient!

Why bother? The app just doesn't work. I downloaded the app and first attempt at a scan doesn't work. I tried a few others with the same results. Like I said, just doesn't work. Update for developer comments - instructions on where and how to download the app, as well as what the interactive icons look like, were in cnet magazine. Each icon also had the page number of the instructions next to it. Is that enough information for you? Your app just doesn't work, hence the pitiful rating.

Does this do anything? Dutifully held the phone over the page and waited for some response. Then I tried again with just the photo of the food or just the recipe's name. No go. Closer or father away made no difference. Don't bother with this one. I'm going to uninstall it.

Never worked... Works for my wife's iPhone but not on Android. Sucks. I am trying to use it in CNET mag and nothing. Wife DL's the app from apple store and w/in a second it worked...
