About this app

My Digital Nanny helps parents stay aware of what their children are watching, listening to, and discussing online — while preserving trust and open communication.

Unlike many parental control apps that silently monitor everything, My Digital Nanny is designed around transparency. Parents and children decide together how the app works. Children can choose to keep certain content private, but the on-device AI still monitors for serious situations and alerts the parent when it matters.

Using on-device AI, the app analyzes audio from streaming, social, and messaging apps on your child's Fire TV, Android phone, or tablet in real time. When potentially harmful content is detected, you get an instant push notification.

HOW IT WORKS
• Install on both your device (parent) and your child's device
• Pair with a simple 6-digit code
• The app monitors audio from streaming, social, and messaging apps on the child device
• When it detects concerning content, you get an instant alert on your phone
• The AI retains context to distinguish genuine concern from false alarms

ALL AI PROCESSING IS ON-DEVICE
No audio is ever recorded or uploaded. The AI runs entirely on the child's device. Only a short alert summary (category + confidence score) is sent to the parent — never the actual audio.

⚠️ ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DISCLOSURE (REQUIRED READING)
My Digital Nanny uses Android's Accessibility Service API on the child's device solely to provide the Message Screening (Pro) feature.

The Accessibility Service is used ONLY for:
• Reading on-screen text from messaging, social media, and AI-chat apps (e.g. WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, Signal, Discord, ChatGPT, Gemini) on the child's device to detect violent, sexual, drug-related, or self-harm content themes.
• Whether text can be read depends on each app — apps using end-to-end encrypted or protected content cannot be accessed.

The Accessibility Service does NOT:
• Record, store on a server, or transmit any message text
• Monitor audio (audio monitoring uses the separate MediaProjection API, not Accessibility)
• Change any settings or perform any actions in other apps
• Work in the background without the child's knowledge — a persistent notification is shown at all times

The parent receives ONLY a theme category alert (e.g. "Concerning theme detected") — the actual message text is never shown to the parent.

Before this permission is granted, the child sees a full disclosure dialog explaining exactly what the service does. The service can be disabled at any time from Android Accessibility Settings or from within the app.
