About this app

PhotoNest tidies your photo library. You choose the categories – for example Family, Food, Nature, Documents or Work – and give each one a few keywords. PhotoNest looks at every photo with an AI model that runs on your phone and copies it into the folder of the best category: Pictures/PhotoNest/.

YOUR PHOTOS ARE SAFE
• Your originals are never changed or moved. PhotoNest only makes copies.
• See every folder in the app, and take out photos that landed in the wrong one. PhotoNest remembers and will not put them there again.
• When you are happy, "Remove sorted originals" moves the originals of sorted photos to the system trash – only after your confirmation, and they can be restored for about 30 days.

WHATSAPP IMAGES
Find the images you received in chats by category, without moving them – they stay where your chats need them. Categories can also have dates, for example a trip or a holiday, so every image of that period is found together.

PEOPLE
PhotoNest can recognise faces in your WhatsApp images. Name a person once, and every image with them can be found in a category such as "My family". Correct a mistake with one tap, or add a person by hand to a photo where no face is visible.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything runs on your phone. PhotoNest has no internet access.
• No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Your photos, faces and names are never sent anywhere.

GOOD TO KNOW
• After installing, Google Play downloads the AI model (about 440 MB). Wi-Fi is recommended.
• Works on Android 8.0 and newer.
• PhotoNest is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.

What’s new

Fixes for Android 8 and 9: photos are found and analysed correctly.
Photo access is asked for with an explanation on the first start.
Shows "Preparing the AI model" while sorting starts on older phones.
