Finally, a Now Playing widget built for your flip's cover screen.

FlipSide shows whatever you're listening to right on the cover screen: as a spinning cassette tape, as big cover art, or as a clean full-size picture with your controls on top. One widget for all your music, podcast and video apps, with a one-tap app launcher for your favourites.

MADE FOR THE COVER SCREEN
FlipSide was designed from the ground up for the small outer screen of flip phones: sized to fill it, with big controls you can tap with the phone closed.

WORKS ON YOUR SAMSUNG FOLDABLE
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Z Flip 6, Z Flip 7, Z Flip 8
- Motorola Razr, Razr+ and Razr Ultra (Razr 40, 50, 60 and newer)
- Not optimized: but any other Android phone, as a home screen widget (Pixel, Galaxy S and more)

TWO WIDGETS - USE EITHER OR BOTH
Full is the whole player. Narrow is a slim strip for when you want it out of the way. Put one on your cover screen, or both on different pages.

THREE LOOKS
- Tape: a see-through cassette whose reels turn while you listen and whose spools grow as the song goes, over a brushed-aluminium deck.
- Cover Art: the album or episode cover, big, over a soft blurred backdrop.
- Clean: the cover itself, sharp and edge to edge, with the title, times and keys right on top.
Tap the middle of the widget to switch between them.

SIX TAPES TO CHOOSE FROM
Tap the arrows at the sides of the tape to change its design: the clear shell, red, retro gold, 80s geometric, chrome and polka-dot pink.

THE RIGHT LOOK FOR EACH APP
Music apps start on Cover Art, podcasts and audiobooks on the tape, and video players on Clean. FlipSide remembers the look you pick for each app, or set each one in Presets.

THE TAPE ACTUALLY WINDS
As your song or episode plays, the tape moves from the left reel to the right, just like a real cassette: full on the left at the start, full on the right at the end. Pause, and everything stops exactly where it is. Press play and it carries on from the same spot. Skip or jump, and the reels whizz round.

YOUR TRACK, HAND-LABELLED
The title is marker-written on a strip of tape stuck to the cassette, in Hebrew, Arabic and Cyrillic handwriting too. Long titles scroll smoothly across the strip.

FULL CONTROLS ON THE COVER SCREEN
Play, pause, skip tracks, jump 15 seconds, or tap anywhere on the progress bar to seek. Every key gives a little click you can feel.

QUICK APP LAUNCHER ON YOUR COVER SCREEN
The little icon in the corner of the widget shows the app that's playing. Tap it and a row of your favourite music, podcast and video apps opens right on the cover screen: tap one to launch it, or tap the cog for Presets. FlipSide remembers the apps you used last, and you can pin the ones you always want to see. Hop from Spotify to your podcast app without opening your phone. (On a Samsung, an app may first need allowing on the cover screen, in Settings > Advanced features > Labs.)

15-SECOND SKIP, EVEN ON SPOTIFY
Spotify and many music apps don't have skip-ahead or skip-back buttons of their own. FlipSide adds them anyway: jump 15 seconds forward or back in any song, right from the cover screen. Podcast apps keep using their own skip lengths. On live radio the keys stay, dimmed, so the deck always looks complete.

NOTHING PLAYING?
Tap the widget to jump straight back into the last music or podcast app you used.

LIGHT AND PRIVATE
FlipSide goes idle when you pause and only looks at what's playing, never at your messages or other notifications. Your music info never leaves your phone.

Works with Spotify, Pocket Casts, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Audible, SoundCloud, Deezer, Tidal, YouTube, VLC and pretty much any other music, podcast or video app. Tested thoroughly on Samsung flip phones and Motorola Razr phones. Other models may behave differently.

Such a neat little app! And the attention to detail is amazing! The tape spools change with time as tape gets transferred from one to another, and skipping ahead or back actually shows them spinning faster. Well done!
