About this app

REAL-TIME SPACE WEATHER & EARTH MONITORING

Named after the Carrington Event of 1859—the most powerful solar storm in recorded history. That event caused telegraph systems to spark and fail across the globe. Scientists estimate such extreme storms occur roughly once every 100-150 years, and it's been 167 years since the last one. Understanding space weather isn't just curiosity—it's preparation.

This citizen science app brings space weather data and research tools directly to your pocket. Track solar activity, monitor earthquakes, explore academic research, and join a community of fellow citizen scientists studying our dynamic planet and its connection to the Sun.

I have been a subscriber for a while now. App used to work great, but in the past few weeks started malfunctioning (Samsung Note 9), giving false EQ alerts pushed to my notifications. Nearly gave me a panic attack the first time it happened. It looked like there was a sudden outbreak of earthquakes all over the ring of fire. Now, it just keeps stuffing EQ alerts into my notifications, and just not working. Should be rolled back to original version. Have canceled my subscription until it's fixed.

This app worked fine for a while, but now for the past couple days there are constant earthquake (EQ) on notifications. I had to Force Stop the app. I finally found a setting to silence audible notifications. They were getting very, very annoying. Trying to go to preferences and the EQ list would keep popping up. Trying to use the app is impossible with constant EQ notifications. I may consider not renewing my subscription and uninstalling the app.

I no longer receive "Global Watch Is High" notifications since the change. My phone is set to allow all notifications from the app and I have every available notification turned on within the app. Am I missing something? I paid for this long prior to overhaul and now most of the alerts and events say 'upgrade' so I guess my original purchase is null and void.
