Ratings and reviews

Last update really tanked functionality. App crashes constantly. I've cleared cache, I've un-installed and reinstalled. While entire groups and channels dissappear for a long time before I can access them again. Like I go into the app and I'm like hi where did every single channel in this server go? And theyre inaccessible for up to an hour before they just randomly pop back up. I'm worried one of these times they won't come back and years of carefully crafted channels will just be gone.

Discord has been pretty good for the most part. however, after an update near the beginning of February, the search function in private messages/chat groups has broken to the point of being almost completely unusable. you can search, but it's hard to read because of how the content glitches down the screen repeatedly. and you can't click on any messages in the results to go to the original message. they release these updates as "Stable" when they're not and don't even provide a way to rollback.

I have used this app for 8 years across nearly as many devices and I've loved every second of it. But with this most recent layout update I've decided it's just not worth it. If they decide to revert the layout to the previous scaled down desktop version then I might reconsider, but its a very tentative maybe.

What’s new

In this version of Discord, you’ll see performance gains in Search and the Expression Picker, where all your stickers, GIFs and cursed custom emoji live.

We’ve also addressed some issues regarding text input fields on the Server Profile settings and Search pages, and we better-preserve HDR colors when uploading videos to Discord.

You should be able to rename Group DMs on Android again, instead of being stuck with your friend’s display names as the GDM name, like “Greg, Greg 2, Gregg Rulez Ok.”
