I can buy games and send messages but I can't install games correctly. I'm running out of space on my first hard drive and configured steam to automatically download games to my secondary one via the steam program on my computer. I can update games perfectly fine that are already installed on my secondary space but I can't install newly purchased games to my secondary. That's pretty much the reason I got this app is to download games while I'm gone throughout the week. Am I missing something?

Please include the redeem option on the app as well. That is one issue which majority of your user base has. Allowing us to redeem any key on the go via mobile app is not only boon but also convenient. Because not everyone sits in front of the computer 24/7. Other than that the app is good but please implement the above features and give back the customers who are loyal to you.

It's good for staying up to date with friends and the stores sales, I have steam on my PC... What's left of it at least. The steam mobile app was my last hope for possibly playing a few of my games, like crush crush and anything that could potentially be mobile friendly. Hopes.. CRUSHED! (lol see what I did there?) But seriously though... If you could make steam mobile contain some mobile friendly games... I would completely rate 5 stars... I beg of you, it's gonna be a long time, or possibly never, until I get a new PC. Please... PLEASE add mobile friendly games on the mobile steam app... ;-;

The app works mostly as intended and i didn't find bugs so far, but how dare you to make me click 3K times in this stupid arrow in order to set my birthday as 1993?! Why it's not possible to manually type it? I tried so at least it's not intuitive enough if the option is available. Cheers

Somehow clunkier and less intuitive than the desktop site. That almost takes more effort to accomplish then to just make a normal semi-effective app. But I get it, who in their right mind would be willing to help Steam, such a lowly company, develop a better app than this...?

A very handy app & is very snappy. Unfortunately the video streaming is terrible. It reminds me of watching YouTube videos from when YouTube 1st came out. Buffering every few seconds. I'd like to see the ability to redeem codes with the app. Also in the store, when you click on popular tags it only displays properly in landscape view. Not portrait which most people probably use. **PLEASE FIX THESE ISSUES AS, OTHER THAN WHAT IVE MENTIONED. THE APP IS GREAT**

This app used to work ok but now it would be easier just to use the browser, after the update every time you back out it goes back three pages. So if you just started the app and hit the back button it will close the app. Pretty irritating when it closes you out of the app 4 times in a row. Uninstalled. I guess its back to the browser. It's now Jan 3rd and it still closes or goes back 3 pages when your browsing ANYTHING. Uninstalled, the browser on my phone has more stability and functionality. This app used to be so good and I liked it. Ill rate it back up when they finally fix this issue. Ots not ospltaed either, many people have been dealing with this for awhile now
Steam is a juggernaut. The Achievement/Trading Card systems are great and feeds greatly into the Indie Game market. Not to mention, Steam creates a great atmosphere for mainstream games and a handful of titles only available through Steam. Many players will love this: 1. Sell Trading Cards or Booster Packs thar are obtained from playing certain games through Steam. Then one may earn digital cash credits used only to buy T'Cards or games! 2. THERE ARE A TON OF FREE GAMES AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD THROUGH STEAM. Even though some of the titles may seem less than, free is free. My only regret is I didn't join Steam the day of release.. oh well. We live and learn. Give Steam a try! 10/10
Okay. They finally fixed some things, but its just okay. There are a lot of little quality changes that could help this app, like for example making modifications have a 1 next to it if you get a request instead of having to pull down the notification tab, but this is okay. Before the big UI update and steam guard this app used to be basically flawless. Overtime it just got worse but I guess this is.. Fine. Could be better.
Why you no give us system tray icon... And also why is there 2 steam preference options at the top and bottom of the settings option, when they both do the same exact thing? Your screen shots need update also still showing the old layout with a much needed system tray icon.
This app is designed to make your steam experience more enjoyable. My steam experience would be 100% perfect if I didn't NEED this app in order to buy things on the market or wait 15 days to sell something. At least make an option to opt out instead of forcing people to use the app if they want to use the market. Nothing wrong with the app. Many things wrong with Valve's policies
Needs more functionality such as access to servers and the ability to send an offline message to friends as in the PC app. Still has issues with chat notifications after the chat has been received through other devices such as a PC. I will receive notifications well sometimes regarding chats that are days old. Still has these issues . I have a different phone. S7.
Notifications of the Steam Guard code don't appear like they used to and don't get me even started on the chat, because notifications there didn't ever work. Also, when you are in a chat with someone and they reply, you have to go out to your friends and back to the chat to see their message. Other than that, the app os really great. :/
Its finally blurring the line between its mobile platform and the PC, and come a very long way in development. So I wonder why Steam doesnt have mobile games for our library. There's certainly a good reason. Anyway, I have absolutely no reason to not give 5 stars.
It's ok for what it does but the notifications should tell me which game in my wish list is on sale or open its store page. Instead it just sits at the top of my list with no option to filter regular priced games off. The issue is that by the time I am done scrolling my list the sale is probably over
-Back button does not supposed to work like that. It supposed to take us back to the previous screen, not "home screen". -"see popular tags" page is pure messed up. Because game suggestions and tags list is stack ontop of each other. All of those I've mentioned above stay in this app for like a year and without passion to fix/improve this app, Steam application on mobile platforms are not recommended.
The app works mostly fine, other than hitting the "back" button. That seems to be all over the damn place. Doesn't matter what page I'm on, hitting "back" always takes me somewhere random that wasn't the previous page. It seems to enjoy taking me to the community page or my wishlist the most, but honestly it's almost always somewhere different. It's pretty annoying.
I've had this app for over a year now and boy has it improved! The only issues I have with it is the remote download's interface being a bit buggy and there beingno key redeem option from the app. Otherwise this app has improved immensely -- I hope it continues to do so.
The back button is bugged in the latest version, it activates 2-3 times in the community tab, making navigation very cumbersome, forces you back to the very first starting point/store page/notification page. Else the app is very useful to stay connected with the Steam community/friends and monitor your game library/wishlist/purchases/security settings.
I know I'm an idiot and forgot my password but everytime I get a verification code on my email on my phone to go back to the submission page is impossible. Everytime I check for my verification code in my email when I switch back to the Steam app it goes back to the login screen and I cannot enter my verification code. Good job Valve!
Messages sent with poor connection can be seen by the recipient in the wrong order, completely lost and have to be retyped or if they aren't lost you have to resend them manually in the right order or the 1st issue will happen. Great job Half-Life 3 dev team on the steam app!
Sometimes chat messages take forever to load. It'll say they are typing and then they stop, later on I'll come back and their message finally appears. Not due to laggy internet since Skype works and I have a great ISP.
It's great overall but you guys seriously need to add the voice chat option to mobile. Not everyone has access to their laptop or desktop pc 24/7. My friends and I like to discuss things in the voice chat but it's very difficult when I, or someone else is away from their laptop or desktop at the time. So having the voice chat option in the mobile app would prove to be very helpful.
The chat section on the application was fine but after a few updates it's started to be buggy. It will show that the other person is typing and the screen will shake. But then sometimes they aren't or it will continue to show they're typing when they didn't send anything or even if they're offline.could you please fix this? Otherwise I'd bump it up to 4. As promised I bumped the rating up to a 4. Overall it runs smoothly and the chat feature is now working. Thank you!!
Chat is broken, messages won't show until I leave the chat I'm currently in. The friends status is also broken only ever showing friends being online and failing to show whether they're in game or not. Desktop version doesn't have either of these issues.
Really frustrating to use, especially regarding navigation. The back button always goes unexpectedly far back, i.e. not to the previous screen but sometimes the screen before that. Combined with the fact that searches aren't saved, this app has you typing the same queries and clicking the same buttons over and over. Frustrating.
Used to be this app basically did nothing but let you check the catalog on Steam. But those days are long gone. Now you can check anything on your profile with this app. The chat even works great on here as well. Although i gotta say, the confirmation thing for the market is my favorite part of it now. It's a great way to make sure it is you putting items up for sale there and not someone else.
Useless app. The only reason I keep it on my phone is stream guard key generator. If not this I would delete it immediately. Actually it is even not an app but poorly implemented wrapper over web version using chrome web component.
Little help here 😞 I just accidentally uninstall my steam app and I can't log-in my steam account. Also, I cannot remember the recovery code given by steam and my phone number associated in my account is deactivated. How can I recover my account? Please send me some guide for that. That's a big help. Thanks. And I will rate 5 star for the help. God Bless.
Cant browse forums because the topics pages dont format correctly and are unreadable. Chat doesnt work properly. Has to be manually reloaded to get messages. Support is PATHETIC. Replying with generic responses that are not helpful in any way. Fine for authenticator if you bother with one but otherwise pointless app. VERY DISSAPOINTING!
Nice for notifications. But as an app I have to scrutinize. All pages are not showing up well, they appear squashed. Text, or box, or image etc. are on top of one another. Something changes app preferances. The discovery queue preferences will not allow me to change it through this app, and following games page has choices I do not see. Some game pages ask for D.O.B. before viewing them, but the app can set that, and it get changed always.
The app is great, both for Mobile AND the Steam client for desktops. Steam has great customer service. I asked for a refund on a game and within an hour I was refunded. Not saying it's that fast every time but these guys really crack down on support and aren't jerks when it comes to refunding someone for a faulty game. P.S. Conan Exiles is terrible and it is buggy. DO NOT BUY.
Decent app for the 2FA system. But the UI is just so dumb. Why am I not going back to the store screen where I was when using the back key? Instead it's closing the app if I'm using store as start screen. Otherwise returning me to friends if that's my start screen. Can't just visit a store page for a game then go back.. Also much harder to browse games genres/specials compared to the desktop version.
Browsing by tags is broken. Steam support does not have an option to offer criticism About Steam itself. There's no way to contact them to tell them about this problem. Good job, Steam. And by good job, I mean you screwed up. Accept criticism!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6, and every time I get a message notification if you dont open the app then click the left bottom button to minimize it then bring it back up you can't see your message. Not sure if that's just me, but still having some chat issues.
App is not very mobile friendly. Searching for games has really tiny text... difficult to tap on results. Plus wishlist sale notifications don't actually tell you what game is on sale, and clicking on the notification just opens the app to your friends page.
It's a great app which gives you desktop like feel in a compact way. There is a lot of need to optimize this app. UPDATE: lately I have been facing some issues with the app. It's freezing and it shows some weird notification that when I open is not visible. Please fix this.
Fantastic app for wish list sales an activity between friends. One thing I would suggest is and STEAM you can make a ton of dough off this... Create steam mobile games within the app, other than that its a great app overall
CHAT I cannot chat my friends through this app like before. When I refresh it won't display any list of my friends, then pop up chat is offline? EDITED: My bad. Actually the app is loading 'while it responds with server'. For convenient and friendly user I suggest to apply some loading function that giving user lifetime update, so the user will aware on that.
I have a Galaxy Note 4 and I can't watch any game trailers or view any pictures. I also have to re-open the chat box when I receive a new message to refresh so I can read the text. Tried re-installing but the problem persists.
