Okay, so the app is for sure useful and works fine even with slow Internet connection - sometimes disconnecting if the net gets too slow, but still gets back to where it was really quickly. The UI is simple as well, making the app eye-friendly + easy to navigate. The only issue I've got right now is the streaming. If I ever want to watch my friends play, I have to find a wifi spot, since it automatically sets the quality to 1080/720p and that's waaay too much for a phone's net, would use tons of MB in a blink of an eye. The ability to change it to 360/480p would be really appreciated, since that's basically like 1080p on a PC.
I would appreciate if they put more attention to the feedback on this app, and if they made all of the app's features usable (I. E. Setting a profile picture, fixing chat not being auto-updated). 25.2 Update: Still not able to set a profile picture, despite it being on the Fixed log.
I downloaded this app for two reasons. 1. Notifications for wish list games going on sale. That works perfectly. 2. Steam Guard codes. I had Steam Guard on but never got codes, even waited half an hour one time, still never saw them. And yes, I was on the right page. I do not recommend this app for 2 factor authentication.
Rubbish app. Terrible design. The fact that the app has had the same old clunky design for a good few years tells a lot about Valve's support system. Launch a software and almost abandon its support. The functionality of the app has been same and not quite useful. It's obviously be better if the app had some useful factor to it. Or else there's really no point in using the app instead of the browser version.
On the whole, good. But it does have some strange glitches like on the profile page it draws the background over the top of the text.. And you sometimes have to refresh a page 2 or 3 time as it keeps coming up blank. Also, when selling, you still have to "confirm" the transaction even though you're already using the app!
(Android 7.0)(One Plus 3) As nice as the new steam app looks and performs, its still full of bugs and has a lot of hindering loading times. I think I'll be downgrading back to 1.0.6. The background connectivity is a must.
Fixed not being able to upload avatars and other files
Fixed some users getting broken unstyled pages which would prevent login and other actions
