About this game

A Village in the Sky is a relaxing world builder, city builder, and city management game combined. Peaceful Vikings have migrated to the skies, and need your guidance to establish a thriving village.

The game was under development by myself on my spare time. It started as a spin-off of the Ludum Dare 38 game-jam theme "Small world" in April 2017, with the goal of becoming a small and relaxing city management game.

I like games styled like this, but I get that this is just as past time, it has to many bugs. After a certain amount of day I can't even play the game without it freezing every couple of minutes. While it has the main points down it not detailed enough in the villagers, who they are, their relationships, what's wrong in their home an etc. I really wanna keep playing b/c finding game such as this is really hard.

Its nice and relaxing. Simple controls. However it's very difficult to assign villagers to housing or jobs. I cant tell who is who, often putting relatives into new housing when I'm trying to place unrelated people to have kids. When I click on the building, it doesnt tell me who is assigned to it so I often have to wait till people move around. It would be nice for a little panel to open when we click on a building to help move people around. Also I'm on mobile and the game screen is a bit big.

I really enjoy this game and I would really like to give it higher stars, but I have many of the same issues others complain about. When building a house or low on resources, banners block the entire screen and makes navigation absolutely impossible. The villagers have no distinctions between them or any easy way to find them, and often they just stay in their huts which makes assigning them to tasks impossible. Also a near endless amount game crashes/freezing.

* When the hinted entity disappears. (src/game/gui/init.lua:570: attempt to index local 'sprite' (a nil value))
* After resizing the window and completing an objective.
