About this app

Someone always pays for dinner. Someone always books the flat. Working out
who owes what afterwards should take ten seconds, not a spreadsheet.

DiviSum keeps a shared ledger for any group of people who split costs -
flatmates, a trip, a couple, or a single evening out. Add what you spent,
pick who it was for, and the arithmetic is done. Everyone sees the same
numbers.


IT ANSWERS THE QUESTION BEFORE YOU ASK IT

The home screen is not a list of groups to open. It shows who owes you, who
you owe, and how much, across every group at once. Most of the time you never
have to tap anything.


ADDING AN EXPENSE IS ONE SCREEN

Type "Rewe" and it picks Groceries. Type "Taxi" and it picks Transport. It
understands English and German, and it learns from the categories you
actually choose - so it gets better at your habits rather than someone
else's.

Split equally, by exact amounts, by percentage, or by shares. Paid for
something you had no part in? The app doesn't insist you were involved.


FEWER PAYMENTS, NOT MORE

Three people owing each other in a circle is one payment, not three. DiviSum
reduces a group's debts to the smallest number of transfers that settles
everybody, so nobody sends money in a loop.


DELETING SOMETHING IS HANDLED PROPERLY

You have thirty days to undo a deleted expense on your own. After that it
takes agreement from the people that expense actually involved, and a
majority has to say yes. Nobody gets to quietly rewrite a bill from three
months ago that you already paid.


NO ADS. NO PAYWALL. NO TRACKING.

There is no premium tier and nothing is held back for one. No advertising
SDK, and no usage analytics - nothing records which screens you open or what
you tap. Your data is stored in the European Union, and you can delete your
account from inside the app, permanently, without emailing anyone and waiting.

DiviSum is built by one person, in Germany. If something is wrong or missing,
the email address in the app reaches me directly, and I read all of it.

What’s new

Groups now have artwork based on what they are: a trip, a home, a couple, an
event.

Expenses pick their own category from what you type, in English and German,
and learn from your habits.

Delete something by mistake and you have 30 days to undo it yourself. After
that, the people involved vote on it.

Notifications when your groups change, with one switch to turn them off.

Fixed: signing into a second account on the same phone briefly showed the
first account's groups.
