Take your time. The tiles will wait.
Gemgrove is a match 3 puzzle with no timer. No clock ticking in the corner, no
seconds draining while you think. You get a set number of moves and all the time
in the world to spend them well.
■ Five gems you can tell apart
Every gem has its own shape as well as its own color — a circle, a rounded square,
a triangle, a diamond and a hexagon. Turn the color off in your head and you can
still read the board. That matters if colors are hard for you to separate.
■ Boosters when the board gets stubborn
A hammer to break one gem, a swap to move two that are nowhere near each other,
and a shuffle to start the board over. None of them cost you a move.
■ Chains that build
Match four in a row and you get a line breaker. Match five and you get a gem that
clears an entire color. Cross two lines and you get a bomb. Set them off together
and the board comes apart in one long chain.
■ 20 countries, 600 levels
Travel from Korea to Iceland. Each country has its own board shape — a torii,
a pyramid, a windmill — and 20 levels of it. Clear all 30 and the country is
stamped and the next one opens.
■ Made to be played in short sittings
Hearts refill on their own while you are away. Twelve languages, and you can pick
yours in the settings.
