By region, they mean by continent. I'm in Florida wanting to identify some species and it's showing me a randomized list of everything from the east coast to the Sonoran desert. Hardly narrows it down.

Nice app with good contents and could have gotten 5 star from me. My only problem with the app is the omission of African reptiles from it but other than that I enjoyed it so far.
