DocSearch+ is a full-text search app designed specifically for finding files and their contents on your phone.

Search both filenames and the text inside your files using keywords. Unlike general phone search tools, DocSearch+ focuses on files and documents, helping you find the information you need without unrelated results such as phone numbers, contacts, or apps.

When you use DocSearch+ for the first time, you will be prompted to create an index of your documents. The index allows DocSearch+ to search filenames and file contents quickly and efficiently.

To provide full file-content search, DocSearch+ requires the "MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" permission. This permission is used for the core function of indexing documents so that files can be searched by their contents. Without document indexing, the main full-text search functionality would not work.

Simply enter one or more keywords in the search box and tap the search button. Search results are displayed immediately, and you can quickly jump to the matching words in the file content.

I use text (txt) files on my Android smart phone because they do not require proprietary editors to read and edit. I have approx 275+ txt files and finding specific text in them can be challenging. I have been using DocSearch+ for several years and it is the *BEST* App I have found for finding text inside my files. The developer accepted my suggestion to create the "G" (grep) search feature and it has helped me a lot. Of the few text search Apps out there this one is definitely the BEST!

This is really solid, well-versed, highly advanced app fit for a desktop. Obviously, it helps to have a little know how to setup ur index and keep it tracked to your repositories of files u wish to index. But truly isn't all too hard and there is a phenomenal guide soon as you start the app. Just hopefully you manage ur files decently on ur internal storage / SDcard to get the best experience. Regardless this all is top notch for searching massive sized and number of documents and the like

Finally!! Just what I needed! I had not been able to find an app that searched WITHIN a file, not just looking at filenames. This is just what I had been looking for. Now when I can't remember which file contained what I was seeking, I can find it quickly and easily with this app. It saves me SO much time and frustration. Kudos to the developer! I highly recommend this app; there are none others that can do what it does. And no annoying ads!

What’s new

1. Add an option to distinguish case sensitivity when searching;
2. Add a search option for diacritical marks in European languages (with the choice to treat different diacritics as distinct or equivalent);
3. Enable searching for the Japanese voiced sound mark (dakuten).
