About this app

When you're standing over hot beans waiting for the crack, there's no time to fill in a form. That's why CrackLog has one big button. When first crack starts popping, tap once. That exact second, a dot lands on your coffee roast curve.

New here? Start with the demo roast. It replays a 10-minute roast in 30 seconds, and the crack button stays live the whole time, so you can feel that dot land before you roast a single bean. Demo batches are flagged and stay out of your stats.

A real roast goes like this. Hit Charge and the timer starts from 0:00, with the screen kept awake. Log the temperature you see on your roaster whenever you can, and the roast curve draws itself in real time. Tap at first crack, tap again at second crack. Mis-tapped? Undo on the spot, or adjust the time after the roast. Hit Drop and the timer stops, leaving you one batch card with total time and DTR.

Every card holds the whole roast
Time-by-temperature curve with first and second crack markers, DTR, bean and origin, charge weight, drop weight and yield, the roaster you used, preheat and ambient temperature, the roast level you picked (Light to Italian), and a one-line note. Browse your cards by bean or roast level in the collection, and when you roast the same bean again, lay the last curve underneath as a ghost and follow it. Tap "Roast again with these settings" on a card and it starts with bean and charge weight already filled in.

Fan and power dials, logged by tap
If your roaster has fan and power dials (1 to 9), like the FreshRoast SR540 or SR800, tap once each time you turn one. They draw as a step line in a lane above the curve and show as a table on the card, so next time you can follow "fan 7 at 3:20" exactly. Log yellowing and the end of first crack by tap too, and your drying, Maillard and development ratios line up alongside.

What's missing is the point
CrackLog is a light logbook for home roasting. No Bluetooth, no temperature probe, no microphone listening for cracks. You read the temperature with your eyes and log it; you hear the crack with your ears and tap. DTR and yield are shown as numbers only. No scores, no "ideal values" pushed on you. No streaks or missions nagging you to roast daily. Roasting once or twice a week is exactly the rhythm this app is built for.
No account, no login, no server, and logging never touches the internet. It asks for zero permissions, and there are no ads or subscriptions. The only purchase is an optional lifetime unlock handled by Google Play. Export your entire roasting history as a single file, import it back, or wipe everything at once from Settings.
