About this app

DogNAS Client is the app you use to reach your own DogNAS: the file server that runs on another Android phone on your home Wi-Fi. Your files stay in your home. There is no cloud, no account and no ads.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Install DogNAS on the phone that will be your server and start it.
2. In DogNAS Client, scan the pairing QR Code shown by the server (or import it from an image) and type the profile PIN.
3. Browse the server's folders, send photos, videos and files, and download what you need.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Pair with your DogNAS in seconds with a QR Code and PIN, and find it again automatically on your local network.
- Browse, search, create, rename, move, copy and delete folders and files on the server, in a list or a thumbnail grid.
- Preview photos, videos, music, PDFs and text files without downloading them first.
- Share files from other apps straight to your DogNAS: choose the storage and folder, and send.
- Upload files, photos and videos from your phone, picking them with the system file picker.
- Download files to your phone's Downloads folder.
- See how much storage you have used on your DogNAS.
- A persistent transfer queue with progress, pause, retry and resume: if the connection drops, the transfer continues from where it stopped.
- Several profiles and several DogNAS devices, each with its own pairing.
- Available in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- Connection over SFTP (SSH) directly between your devices, encrypted.
- The server's identity is pinned when you pair, so a different device cannot pretend to be your DogNAS.
- Passwords stay in the Android Keystore on your phone.
- No account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing is sent to the developer or to third parties.
- It is made for your home Wi-Fi: your files travel between your own devices, not through any cloud.

FREE AND PRO
Free: your own profile plus 2 more, up to 3 paired devices and up to 64 GB of managed space on the server, with the transfer queue pausing when you leave the app.

Pro (one-time purchase, bought in the DogNAS server app, no subscription): unlimited profiles and devices, all of the server's storage, faster transfers with more simultaneous connections, and transfers that keep running with the app closed.
These limits belong to the DogNAS server. DogNAS Client itself is free.

You need the DogNAS server app on another Android phone on the same Wi-Fi network (Android 7.0 or newer). The camera is used only to scan the pairing QR Code. Files are only read when you choose them to upload. Storage is not a backup: keep an independent copy of important files.
