About this app

NOTE: ANDROID 11 IS NOT SUPPORTED
Google removed Global immersive mode support in Android 11, and there is nothing I can do to make it work. I'm sorry :(

Using Secure Settings, we can set an immersive mode that will be handled by Android properly. It doesn't use accessibility (which slows down the phone). It uses a policy in secure settings to directly tell android that it should assume the user has hidden keys (I.E. an application has requested fullscreen).

To use this application, you must grant the application the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission. You'll need ADB. You can find tutorials online on how to install it for your OS.

Now, type this into a shell:
adb shell pm grant com.draco.immersive android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

The app can handle 2 types of immersion (they do not work at the same time). There is status bar immersion, which will hide the status bar, and there is navigation immersion, which will hide the navigation bar. There is a reset button to disable immersion entirely.

This app may not be compatible for all phones, but it SHOULD work for Android OS 4.4+

Almost perfect... on my Note 9, when in split screen with the hidden status bar option i can still see the notification icons if i have any. they go away as soon as i exit split wcreen but if i enable two windoes at one time then the pending notifications show up. is that something that currently has an option or is that something that maybe can be looked into? other than that i love the app

This app works flawlessly with my phone, needed to use pc just to enable write permissions to the settings on Android and then it started working. One thing that I'd love to have added is the ability to crop the screen even further by selecting parts of the screen that you want to black out. I'm using this app to prevent burn in which is why further screen cropping would be even better for things like removing social media buttons.

I didn't think it would be so convenient! I have used immersive mode using a tasker plugin but it also hid the navigation buttons and keyboard, which makes it a painful experience. Only hiding the status bar is more useful since the status bar often doesn't carry too much information. Although I think that you should implement a whitelist so at least we can show status bar on the home screen.

Thanks! I'm working on a whitelist for excluding apps
