About this app

Turn your Android tablet into a professional drawing tablet for your Linux PC.
Drawing Tablet wirelessly connects your Android tablet to your Linux desktop, streaming your screen to the tablet and sending stylus input back to your PC — creating a seamless, Wacom Cintiq-like drawing experience over your local WiFi network.
Key Features:
- Full Pen Support — 65,535 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt detection, hover distance, and stylus button support for a natural drawing experience in apps like Krita, GIMP, Inkscape, and more.
- Low-Latency Screen Streaming — Hardware-accelerated H.264 video encoding (NVENC, VA-API, or CPU fallback) streams your desktop to your tablet in real time over UDP.
- Multi-Touch Gestures — Use two or more fingers to pan, zoom, and rotate your canvas. Intelligent palm rejection automatically suppresses accidental touch input while the pen is in use.
- Automatic Server Discovery — Find your PC instantly on your local network via mDNS (Avahi). No manual IP configuration required. Optionally save your server for one-tap auto-connect.
- Wayland Native — Built from the ground up for modern Linux desktops using PipeWire screen capture and XDG Desktop Portal for secure, user-approved screen sharing.
- Anti-Jitter Input Retiming — A built-in event retimer buffers and re-emits stylus events based on their original timestamps, eliminating network jitter that causes line spikes in drawing applications.
- Immersive Drawing Mode — Full-screen, landscape-locked display with screen always on, so nothing interrupts your creative flow.
How It Works:
1. Install the Drawing Tablet server on your Linux PC (available as an Arch Linux package or build from source).
2. Launch the server — it will publish itself on your network automatically.
3. Open Drawing Tablet on your Android tablet, find your server, and connect.
4. Your PC screen appears on your tablet. Pick up your stylus and start drawing!
Requirements:
- Android 13 (API 33) or higher
- A stylus-capable Android tablet (for pen input)
- A Linux PC running Wayland with PipeWire
- Both devices on the same local network
Privacy:
Drawing Tablet collects zero personal data. All communication stays entirely on your local network. No analytics, no tracking, no cloud services.
Open Source:
Drawing Tablet is free and open source under the MIT license. Contributions welcome on GitHub.
