Ratings and reviews

It is not what you expect. There is a SIM but there is no number with it; you must rent a number of you want to make calls or send SMS. The rental is for a fee (so actually it is not true that this service doesn't charge regular fees: it does if you want to use it for the features advertised). They also advertise free incoming calls, but read carefully: only when connected to WiFi (LoL). If you don't rent a number then all you get is mobile data connection which is very slow (1.19/0.27 Mbps).

I'm traveling currently and thought I'd give this a try. The rates are okay (albeit very variable but I guess that's out of their control to an extent) but much worse is that it is now randomly logging data usage increments of exactly 32MB multiple times a day. My own phone isn't picking up anything like this usage and I don't have any apps that will be using this data. Have turned off the balance refresh and will be relying on local sims only now, and store this for absolute emergencies.

I have been using Drimsim for several years now. Always keep money on in case someone goes wrong while I'm traveling so I could order a taxi or send a message. Helped me numerous times. It is obviously pricier than buying a local sim card but really helpful when you are spending just a day or two in a new country and don't want or have no time/possibility to buy a local sim card.
