SPM-12 brings the classic E-mu SP workflow to macOS, iOS and Android. Open existing material, build new projects anywhere, and finish your music with a faithful sampler engine and a modern export workflow.
THE SP-1200 SOUND
Playback recreates the SP-1200's 12-bit, 26.04 kHz audio engine. The eight outputs keep their distinctive voice: swept filtering on outputs 1–2, fixed filtering on 3–6 and an unfiltered path on 7–8 — the same character as the hardware.
OPEN YOUR DISKS
Load SP-1200 floppy disks from HxC .hfe images and work with everything stored on the original: sounds, segments, songs, tuning, levels, output assignments, swing, tempo changes and saved mixes. Audition pads and play a single segment or a whole song.
MAKE BEATS ANYWHERE
Start from a clean project on iPhone, iPad, Android or Mac — no hardware required. Sample and shape sounds, play the pads, build segments, arrange songs, and save it all as an editable SPM-12 project you can come back to.
EIGHT-CHANNEL MIXDOWN
Mix the eight SP-1200 outputs with individual level, mute and pan, plus delay and reverb sends. Finish the stereo bus with master effects: filter, delay, reverb, EQ and compression.
EXPORT STEMS AND MIXES
Render any song or segment to WAV — a mono stem for every active output, a processed stereo mix, or both. Add a render tail so decays and effects ring out naturally. Export a hardware .hfe disk image to take your work back to the machine.
WORK WITH AN SP-12
Receive an E-mu SP-12's sound bank and sequences over MIDI and keep them together as a single .sp12 backup. Edit it in SPM-12 and send it back to stock or Turbo hardware. Legacy SPL-12 app files (.SPLB12 / .SPLQ12) open too — and can be converted into full SPM-12 projects.
SUPPORTED FORMATS
• .hfe — open and export SP-1200 floppy-disk images
• .sp12 — back up, edit and restore SP-12 sounds and sequences
• .SPLB12 / .SPLQ12 — import legacy SPL-12 banks and sequences
• .spm12 — save complete, editable projects
