Prepare, build, and endure in Drywater — a single-player Old West survival and taming game where preparation is rewarded and calculated risk pays off.

Step onto a dangerous, unmapped frontier that stretches out forever in every direction. Gather raw resources, tame wild mounts, raise an outpost, and stay ahead of the cold. There are no dead ends and no unfair deaths here — only graduated, recoverable consequences for anyone who rides out unprepared.

🤠 TAME & RIDE THE WILDERNESS
Track, feed, and earn the trust of four wild species — and every animal you tame rolls its own speed and carrying strength, so no two mounts are the same:
• Elk: the frontier all-rounder. Quick on its feet and a genuine hauler.
• Bear: slow, immensely strong, fights back — and its body heat keeps you alive in the cold.
• Horse: a dependable, even-tempered ride for steady overland work.
• Cougar: the fastest thing you can sit on, and the only one that will climb a cliff face. Carries almost nothing.

Taming is a nerve game, not a button press. Feed an animal while it is receptive, watch its trust climb and its nerve fray, and back off before you spook it.

🥶 COLD, HEAT & THE TURNING SEASONS
Temperature is the constant threat. Spring, summer, autumn and winter each shift the ambient temperature, and where you stand matters as much as when — the forest runs cooler than the valley, and the mountains stay bitter year-round no matter the season.
• Both extremes are lethal. Freeze, and you lose health. Overheat, and you lose it just the same.
• Build enclosed shelters and fires, craft hide wraps and fur coats, and cook hot meals that carry warmth with you.
• Or ride a bear, and take your heat with you.

🪵 BUILD & STAFF YOUR FRONTIER BASE
Turn a bare foundation into a working outpost:
• Lay foundations, raise walls and doors, and place forges, workbenches, cooking, tailoring and smithing stations.
• Enclose your base — sealed walls and good furniture make a space genuinely cozy, and coziness is a mechanic, not a decoration.
• Recruit workers out in the wilderness and assign them to a forge or workbench, where they keep processing raw material while you are away.

⚒️ DEEP CRAFTING & A LIVING ECONOMY
• Refine stone, ore and timber into ingots, planks, steel and silver.
• Craft tools, bows, revolvers, rifles and heavy forge equipment.
• Trade with a frontier merchant whose prices genuinely move: every good swings with the season, prices sag when you flood the market with the same item, a daily roll nudges everything either way, and the better your standing the less you pay.

⚔️ ENCOUNTERS IN THE EXPANSE
The ground between outposts is never empty. Outlaws ride it, supply caches are buried in it, and strangers may want to talk or may not. With a heavy pack on your back, running is not always the cheap option.

What’s new

Portals are here. Build a pair, step onto one, and come out the other side — your mount and anyone following you come too. Raw wood, ore and stone won't travel, so refine what you gather before you send it home.

Also fixed: since the last update animals had been running with their legs frozen. They move properly again. Beyond that — the ground has real texture instead of flat color, tamed cougars remember how to climb after you reload, and floors laid over shallow water no longer slow you down.
