Your bank balance may not be your real balance.
It has not counted Saturday's card payment, the check nobody has cashed, or the rent that leaves on the first. Cleared counts all of it, so the number on screen is the one you can spend against.
A checkbook register that works offline -- a cheque register, a check book ledger, whatever you call it -- with the arithmetic done for you.
TWO BALANCES, AND THE GAP BETWEEN THEM
Every account shows what the bank agrees with -- the figure that should match your statement -- and what you have actually committed. The difference is everything that has not cleared yet.
WHAT IS COMING, NOT JUST WHAT HAPPENED
Rent, insurance, a paycheck, the car payment. Schedule recurring bills once and the running balance counts it from that day on. Every two weeks, the first Monday of the month, the 14th of every second month. Deposits land before payments on the same day, so a paycheck sits above the bills it covers. One switch turns the projection off.
A BUDGET PLANNER THAT WORKS LIKE A REGISTER
Schedule the bills you already know about and the running balance counts them from today, so you spend against next month's real number rather than this morning's. No envelopes, no spending limits: what is committed, and what is left.
SCHEDULED BILL REMINDER: A WARNING BEFORE THE BIG ONES
Set a reminder a month before the annual insurance is due, and again two weeks later -- as many as a bill deserves, on only the schedules you pick.
NO BANK LOGIN. NOTHING UPLOADED.
No account. No sign-in. Nothing connected to your bank. Your ledger, your receipts and your settings live on the phone. Nothing is uploaded, and the only copy that leaves is one you hand to a phone you picked -- so it works on a plane, in a basement, and with a bank no aggregator has heard of. Back it up when you choose, to a file you keep.
ANY MONEY YOU CAN COUNT
Checking, savings, a credit card, cash, a side business, a rental, the club account. Each gets its own currency and statement cycle: if yours runs the 15th to the 14th, so does the register. Transfers are a linked pair, so money never leaves one account without arriving in the other -- and clearing one side offers to clear the other.
RECEIPT TRACKER
Photograph a receipt, or pick one you already have. Trim it, straighten it, and keep it with the entry -- several photographs to one transaction when a long receipt needs them.
Filing an expense claim? Tick the receipts you need, or take a whole statement cycle at once, then hand them to your email app or save them as a zip.
SHARE AN ACCOUNT
Let another phone see the joint account while every other account stays private. Pick one, let them scan the QR code on your screen, and their register fills in -- read-only, so yours stays the only phone that can change it. Straight between the two handsets over your own Wi-Fi: no account, no server.
WITHOUT OPENING THE APP
Write an entry from a Quick Settings tile, or long-press the icon on your home screen. The app lock still applies.

If you ever kept a paper check register, this is that, with receipts attached.
Cleared is free, supported by one small banner advertisement. Nothing is held back: every feature above works whether or not you ever pay anything.
