About this app

Flower is a simple app for reading bilingual books. Here you read a book sentence by sentence. If you come across an unknown word, you translate it. And if you can't understand the meaning of the sentence, you translate the whole sentence. Sounds easy? Install the app and see for yourself.

Amazing, simplistic concept... lack of consistent design and variety, although. Definitely would recommend if there were more options for reading. I'd be happy to contribute if they opened up volunteer work, as a polyglot myself. Also needs more features. I wish you could save words to a flashcard deck or something of the sort. Then, I'd absolutely recommend to everyone I know.

I've used many different language learning apps to find what works best for me - this is easily one of my favorites. Stories are broken into sections of one or two sentences, allowing you to thoughtfully digest bites of language without chewing through a gristly slab of text. The translations are clean, and they capture the page's meaning rather than the literal translation. The audio is excellent for correcting your pronunciation of certain words or entire sentences. Fantastic learning tool!

I was absolutely delighted by idea, but... I'm learning Greek, and I was buffled by texts. Initially I thought it's my lack of Greek knowledge, but after some time I realized, it's a machine translation, and the poorest quality possible. Character gender is changing all the time, absurd words are used for simplest things. For any other application that would be fine, but not for learning the language.

Fair point. I'm going to hire native speakers to proofread translations in the future. For now, I've added a note that it's a machine translation.
