Tatterphrase turns your pocket into a well-worn phrasebook, helping you catch and keep the expressions that matter while you travel or study. Open the app to find a waxed canvas pocket interior holding a tiny spiral notepad, where every entry lives as a torn paper strip with uneven deckled edges and handwritten ink. When you hear an unfamiliar phrase at a market stall, on a train platform, or in a friendly conversation, you can fill in a simple paper form that records the original phrase, its translation, where you heard it, and who said it. Saving the note clips a fresh slip into your collection with a bent brass paperclip, and you can return anytime to edit or remove entries with a few taps. The Home tab shows your growing vocabulary through a miniature kraft paper tally tag and a pencil stub notched with each new addition, while three recent strips peek out like bookmarks for quick reference. Inside the Phrases tab, your entire stack of torn slips scrolls naturally under a magnifying glass search bar that filters by phrase or translation in an instant. Switch to the Flash tab to quiz yourself with a full-screen phrase strip that hides the translation until you tap to reveal it, then swipe left or right to move through your deckled-edge stack. Everything you save stays right on your device, stored locally so your words remain private and available whether you are on a remote trail or underground in the metro. There is no sign-up, no signal required, and no clutter, just a faithful imitation of a traveler’s jacket pocket packed with little torn reminders. Tatterphrase fits into your daily rhythm as effortlessly as a stubby pencil in a canvas fold, letting you gather street-level lingo, bookmark real-world expressions, and build a personal language scrapbook one torn phrase at a time.
