HOW BLOCKING WORKS
Pause Now uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect which app is currently open on your screen. This is the core mechanism behind every blocking feature in the app — manual focus sessions, scheduled blocking, and daily time limits all rely on real-time detection of the active app in order to display a block screen when you open an app you've chosen to limit. Android does not provide any other public API that allows apps to detect foreground app changes as they happen, which is why Accessibility Service is required. Pause Now does not use Accessibility Service to read on-screen content, log keystrokes, capture screenshots, record audio, or collect any personal data — its use is strictly limited to identifying which app is currently active. You can review or revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Accessibility.
