The ESD Seasonal Forecaster brings three-month global climate outlooks from the world's leading climate prediction centers to your device in an easy to use, beautifully designed app.
Climate prediction - also known as Seasonal Forecasting - is the prediction of average conditions for the forth-coming few months; it has seen notable advances recent years driven by increases in computational power and research progress, developing forecasting systems that span the time range between regular short-term forecasts and long-term climate projections. We are proud to bring you the ESD Seasonal Forecaster: it presents forecasts showing which regions are predicted to be drier/wetter or warmer/cooler than normal conditions, all using four of the most advanced and credible forecasting systems.
Beautifully-rendered global visualisations, together with a location lookup - to allow you to explore projected conditions for towns and cities anywhere in the globe.
Updated each month with new forecast projections.
In this updated version, we also present the latest monthly global temperature estimates from the world's leading climate research centers. These values allow the monitoring of Earth's present heating, compared to pre-industrial levels - showing our proximity to warming thresholds such as 1.5 and 2.0 °C
