About this app

eBixi is a mobile money app built for Somalia and Somaliland. Hold your balance in an eBixi wallet, move it to and from the mobile wallets you already use, and top up internet bundles — without queuing at a shop.

MOVE MONEY YOUR WAY

• Deposit — fund your eBixi wallet from your mobile money account.
• Withdraw — send money from your eBixi wallet back out to your mobile wallet.
• Cross transfer — move money from one mobile money provider to another, with eBixi handling the route in between.
• Send to anyone on eBixi — transfer to another eBixi user with just their phone number.
• Internet top-up — buy a data bundle for your own number or for someone else.

BUILT AROUND SAVED ACCOUNTS

Save your provider numbers once in Preferences. Every service — deposit, withdrawal, cross transfer, internet — then reuses them, so you are not retyping account numbers on every payment.

KNOW WHERE YOUR MONEY IS

Every request opens a live status tracker that refreshes on its own while your payment is processed, so you can see exactly which stage it has reached. Completed payments keep a full receipt in your transaction history.

EARN WHILE YOU SHARE

Share your referral code to collect points. Turn points into internet vouchers, or withdraw your referral credit into your wallet.

SECURITY THAT FITS THE PHONE

Sign in with your phone number and a one-time code, delivered by SMS or WhatsApp. Protect your balance and every money movement behind your device lock or a 4–6 digit eBixi PIN — your balance stays hidden on the home screen until you unlock it.

eBixi is available to customers in Somalia and Somaliland. A phone number registered with a supported mobile money provider is required to move funds.

Ratings and reviews

There is an issue that arises after prolonged use, and as far as I can tell, there is no solution. It seems that a limit is imposed on users when they switch networks, which is not reasonable. Users should be able to utilize their purchased package for as long as they wish without restrictions.

As Far as I know This app is excellent in Exchanging your money from one Service to another ( E-Dahab & Zaad ) but the only thing that needs to be improved is the times that there is no staff working ( such after 1:00 PM and after 11:00 AM ) and I think it would be great if you extend your availability to whole the day or even go offline after 12:00 AM but work the rest.

The problem with this app is that when you send money, it takes a while to process it and doesn't send it right away. 👎

Split a bill with friends.

Create a bill for the full amount, share the code or link, and everyone
pays their share straight from their eBixi wallet. Watch what has come in
as it arrives, then send the total on to the merchant in one payment.

Every bill stays open for 7 days. If it is not covered by then, everything
collected is refunded automatically — and you can cancel for a full refund
at any time.
