About this app
ECG Quiz is a practice app for nursing students, medical students, paramedics and anyone learning EKG rhythm interpretation. Every strip is drawn by the app, not scanned from a book, so you get a new one every single time and never end up memorising the picture instead of the rhythm.

15 RHYTHMS
Normal Sinus Rhythm, Sinus Bradycardia, Sinus Tachycardia, Atrial Fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, Supraventricular Tachycardia, Junctional Rhythm, Premature Ventricular Contraction, Ventricular Tachycardia, Ventricular Fibrillation, Asystole, First-degree AV Block, Mobitz I (Wenckebach), Mobitz II and Complete Heart Block.
BLOOD GAS INTERPRETATION
Respiratory acidosis, respiratory alkalosis, metabolic acidosis and metabolic alkalosis, with compensation. The ABG quiz walks the same four steps every time - pH, then PaCO2, then HCO3, then compensation - so what you learn is a method rather than an answer.
EVERY ANSWER EXPLAINED
Rate, rhythm, P wave, PR interval and QRS width for the strip in front of you, plus why it is that rhythm and which one it is most often mistaken for.

NEW TO RHYTHM STRIPS
Start with the Learn section and the Rate Drill. The drill teaches heart rate the way it is taught on the ward - count the large boxes between two R waves, or count the complexes in a six-second strip - and then makes you do it on a new strip until it is quick. Sinus rhythms first, then atrial, then ventricular, then the blocks.
HOW THE STRIPS ARE MADE
Each one is built from a rhythm model and a random seed, drawn at 25 mm/s and 10 mm/mV on a standard ECG grid. Rate, regularity and morphology vary within the range the rhythm actually allows, so two atrial fibrillation strips never look the same and the right answer is never the one you simply remembered.
