About this app

Lawtons Diary puts your firm's diary in your pocket. It is the official mobile companion to the Lawtons Diary web application used by Lawtons Solicitors, letting authorised staff view and manage appointments, deadlines and reminders wherever they are.

WHO IT IS FOR
Lawtons Diary is a business tool for staff of Lawtons Solicitors. To use it fully you sign in by scanning a one-time QR code from the Lawtons Diary website, which securely pairs the app to your account. Access is managed by your firm.

• Voice memos are transcribed automatically, so what was said can be read and searched on the website

CAPTURE IT WHILE YOU ARE THERE
Straight after a hearing or a client meeting, attach what you need to the entry itself: type a quick attendance note, photograph a signed form, scan a paper document straight into a multi-page PDF with the camera, or record a voice memo while it is fresh. Voice memos are transcribed automatically on your firm's own server — nothing is sent to a third-party service — so the words are there to read alongside the recording, and searching for something that was said finds the appointment. Everything you attach is filed against the appointment and is there for you and your colleagues on the Lawtons Diary website when you get back to the office. Mark an attachment private and only you can see it.

WORKS OFFLINE
Your recent and upcoming diary is cached securely on your device, so you can keep working without a signal. Changes you make offline — including anything you attach — are queued and sync automatically when you reconnect.

PRIVATE AND SECURE BY DESIGN
• Unlock with your fingerprint, face or device passcode — and the app re-locks when you switch away
• Sign-in tokens are held in the device's secure keystore and the offline cache is encrypted
• All communication uses HTTPS, and the app only ever talks to your firm's own approved server
• No adverts, no tracking, no analytics — and your data is never sold

You can disconnect your device at any time from the Profile screen, which removes it from your account and wipes the local data.

What’s new

Scan paper documents into a multi-page PDF with your phone's camera, and voice memos are now transcribed automatically — read what was said on the website and find appointments by searching for spoken words. Attachments can be switched between private and shared after you add them, and uploads are easier to follow — see what is queued or failed, and retry it. Fixes: the app opens with your saved diary when you have no signal, and a rejected change is kept rather than lost.
