TC3Sim is a serious game developed to teach and reinforce the concepts of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). TC3Sim uses skill-driven scenarios to teach and evaluate a student's knowledge of the essential tactics, techniques and procedures required of an Army Combat Medic (68W) or Combat Life Saver (CLS).
TC3Sim incorporates a variety of instructional development strategies to support a student's need to master a variety of medical competencies, and to apply them in unique situations. In summary, TC3Sim trains various cognitive skills of triage, treatment, trauma medicine procedures, and situational awareness for safety on the battlefield (e.g. care under fire.) Specifically, TC3Sim provides assessment of Individual Competency Tasks (ICT's) critical lifesaving skills, based on Deployed Medicine for Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3), Medical Education and Demonstration of Individual Competence (TC 8-800), Trauma and Medical scenario Tasks list (DA Forms 7742 and 7741) and Combat LifeSaver (CLS) Sub Course (ISO 0871B), addressing the three preventable causes of death in the battlefield.
Each scenario in TC3sim is a short, goal-oriented training exercise that provides the context to train a group of key tasks within a specific mission. These key tasks include the ability to assess casualties, perform triage, provide initial treatment, and prepare a casualty for evacuation under battlefield conditions. TC3Sim supports modes where each user may select from a predetermined list of roles and avatars. Players can choose to be a Combat Lifesaver (CLS) or a Combat Medic (68W) and have access to different interactions and equipment based on their role. You can also play as U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force services in various simulated combat environments.
TC3Sim is the result of more than 20 years continuously researching, developing, and enhancing the TC3Sim product line with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC), Simulation and Training Technology Center (STTC) and other stakeholders.
TC3Sim is published and intended for use by United States (U.S.) military service members. Users must register their account on www.tc3sim.com to play.
