About this app

Simply Models is the official app for parents, students and teachers at the Simply Models studio in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal — a private modelling, pageant and etiquette school run by Melissa Henning.

Sign in once and the studio comes with you: your child's class schedule, the invoices for their term, your direct line to Melissa and the teachers, and your child's portfolio of casting-ready photos. No more hunting through WhatsApp for the next class date or losing the EFT details for this month's fee.

— FOR PARENTS
• See every child you've registered, their roles, and their next session at a glance.
• Issued invoices land in the app the moment Melissa releases them — pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through PayFast, or settle by EFT and upload your reference.
• Message Melissa or a teacher directly. No public groups; no chat history shared with anyone outside the studio.
• Manage notification preferences class-by-class — class reminders, fee reminders, newsletters and more.

— FOR STUDENTS (16+)
• Track your own classes, attendance and reviews after every session.
• Build a portfolio of your shoots and pageants — tap "Generate Z-card" for a one-page PDF you can send to a casting director.
• Apply to be a Simply Models promoter and pick up paid brand activations at expos, festivals and lifestyle events.

— FOR TEACHERS
• Mark attendance the moment a class wraps; share notes and feedback per student.
• Issue end-of-term reviews; the system handles payouts on the studio's monthly cadence.

— PRIVACY, SAFETY, COMPLIANCE
• Built to South Africa's POPIA. Your data lives on Google's europe-west2 infrastructure; nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.
• Children under 13 are managed by their parent's account — they don't need their own login or device. Photos and messages of minors are visible only to their linked family and the assigned teacher.
• Delete your account from inside the app any time. We retain only what the law requires (financial records for SARS) and erase the rest within 30 days.

— PAYMENTS
The "Pay now" button on an invoice charges your card via PayFast, the South African payment gateway. Tuition is for in-person classes — a physical, real-world service — so it sits outside Apple's and Google's in-app-purchase systems. Promoter earnings are paid by EFT after the gig.

— GETTING STARTED
1. Tap "Create account" and sign up with your email or phone.
2. Enter your name and surname.
3. Add your child's details (or wait for Melissa's invite if you're already on the books).
4. You're in.

If your account was created by Melissa or another admin, sign in with the email or phone number you registered with the studio and the app will recognise you automatically.
