About this app

This is an unofficial app for listening to WFMU, an independent freeform radio station based in New Jersey. Check out the weekly schedules, listen live to a selection of streams, or catch up on the recently archived episodes. Queue episodes for playback, or download episodes to listen back offline. You can also listen via your Chromecast device, or in your car with Android Auto.

This app not sanctioned or endorsed by WFMU. It's simply a personal side-project.

The developer of this app really needs to get some recognition. It's just miles ahead of the official app or, in a lot of ways, the website itself. Kept up to date with gorgeous design and excellent features. It's a visual feast to go along with the audio feast that is WFMU. If there was a medal for Hero of Listener Supported Independent Free Form Radio, this developer would win it. Thank you and keep up the excellent work!

Great app with great features. We are a WFMU family and swag for lifers but rarely listened on the app due to it's clunkyness. Only been listening on this for a few hours now but so far I LOVE it! The Old Codger would be proud (and more than a bit confused)

I'm very, very happy this app exists as it presents you with so much info and wfmu is great. You can bookmark favourite tracks and shows, easily find archived shows etc... Lately though it has started crashing upon start up. I don't know if it's because my device is old and unsupported or whatever. I'm bummed. I give the app 4 stars because some of the design choices are a little overly complex and hard to wrap your head around.

What's new

- Fixes crash on older devices running Android 6/Kindle Fire

PREVIOUSLY:
- Comments can be grouped by conversation.
- Bug fixes & updates.
- Increased number of archived show episodes.
- Developer Tip Jar.

KNOWN ISSUES:
- Time displayed by Chromecast devices are ~10 minutes fast.
- "Previous track" voice command skips to the start of the entire episode, rather than the track. Use the on-screen button for this command instead.
- Resumption of a paused download will fail (in most cases).
