About this app

This is the new official app for listening to WFMU, an independent freeform radio station based in New Jersey. This app is the updated version of the previous unofficial "Woof-Moo" app. The old app previously known as "WFMU (Official)" has now been retired, and this version of the Woof Moo app is the replacement for it.

Check out the weekly schedules, listen live to a selection of streams, or catch up on the recently archived episodes. Queue episodes for playback, or download episodes to listen back offline. You can also listen via your Chromecast device, or in your car with Android Auto.

This app contains no adverts or tracking. Analytics functions are available, but are unused at the time of writing. You can disable this completely at any time, and will be presented with this option when the app is first opened.

Ratings and reviews

My Minimalist Phone launcher app caused some issues, even when I switched back to the Google launcher. Short version - couldn't make anything play, not livestreams or archives. 'Listen' button clicked and momentarily changed and the standard looking round Play button changed appearance to a pause button for a second, then reverted, but audio didn't start. Solution: open Minimalist Phone notification filter settings and allow WFMU to send notifications. Audio now plays as expected.

Outstanding app making use of nearly all aspects of WFMU online presence. Provides playlist artist and recording title and allows commenting via the app interface or easy link to playlist page in web browser. Can see currently playing selection of every live streaming program and can preview full playlist and comments. Archive listening accesses both the 4 weeks of 128k MP3 plus any other archived episode going back to 2001 or so. Schedule view useful for current day. Great update.

Great app. Just wish it was easier to add and delete offline archives

What’s new

- Fixes crash on home screen related to animation, mostly on devices with Android 9 and earlier.
- Hopefully fixes issue where certain comments would fail when posted.
- Other minor UI and infrastructure updates.
