About this app

The application "Virtual journey in the industrial traces of Naoussa" offers you the opportunity, via mobile phone or tablet, to tour the city of Naoussa along the river Arapitsa in the former industrial factories that made it famous in Greece and abroad.

Ten industrial complexes, spinning mills, textile mills, imposing chimneys, moorings and turbines invite you to discover them, through a tour of the city of Naoussa depending on the interests and the time you can spend. Suggested routes, augmented virtual reality technologies that allow you to "get inside" factories even where you can't with a physical presence, and geolocation technologies make guided tours a personal, interactive storytelling experience.

The application has rich information material about the architecture and mechanical equipment of the factories, the history of the companies, their workforce and the families of the industrialists. Comprehensible texts, rich photographic material, oral testimonies of people in the industry, 3D animation, video art, as well as a set of educational games for children and adults, take you on a journey through the history of Naoussa textile and its urban and natural landscape. The route also gives you the opportunity to get to know other places of historical and tourist interest, such as the Matthew Cylinder Mill and the Holocaust Memorial of the city.

The application also provides the possibility of audio tour for those who prefer it or find it difficult to read, while it is also available in English for foreign tourists in the city. Also, for those of you who want to know the industrial history of Naoussa from your home, the touring experience remains unique!
