Elialay is a structured, intuitive support tool designed to increase independence and dignity for people with special needs.
The idea behind elialay was born in 2017 from a father’s deep desire to help his son, Elias — who has Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder — live as independently as possible. After years of testing prototypes and refining the concept, elialay reached its final form in 2021 and continues to evolve today.
Behind elialay are:
Michael Schmücker – the technical mind behind the platform. With many years of experience connecting users, businesses, and IT in innovative ways, Michael creates solutions that are intuitive, practical, and deeply rooted in real-life needs. His rare ability to combine technical expertise with a strong understanding of users’ everyday challenges makes elialay uniquely user-friendly and task-oriented.
Kim Wilde – entrepreneur since 1990, developer of multiple companies and concepts, and a tutor in sales and communication. Inspired by life with his son Elias, Kim transformed personal experience into a meaningful solution. Elias has been the primary tester throughout the development process, ensuring that elialay works in real-world situations.
Today, elialay is being implemented in:
Residential care settings
Activities and day programs
Special education schools
It serves as a modern and flexible alternative or complement to tools such as Time Timer, Boardmaker, and other visual aids used in daily routines.
Our Mission
Together, we aim to provide more people with greater independence — and through that, greater dignity in their own lives.
elialay is not just a tool.
It is a bridge to autonomy, structure, and confidence.
