About this app

D.off puts a limit on the apps that eat your day — and asks you to write before you get past it.

WHAT MAKES THE UNLOCK DIFFERENT

Most screen time apps give you a "5 more minutes" button. D.off gives you a sentence to transcribe. Typing a line by hand takes long enough that the reflex to keep scrolling passes, and you get to decide again — deliberately this time.

The transcription library ships with the app: 980 public-domain sentences in English, curated across 8 categories (famous quotes, history, Bible, fairy tales, psychology, self-help, mindfulness, poetry & literature). Across all 7 supported languages the library holds 6,274 sentences in total. It is bundled offline, so the unlock works with no network.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Group your apps — Social, Games, Video, or anything you define. Set a daily limit per group.
2. D.off tracks usage in real time and shows daily, weekly, and monthly charts.
3. When you hit the limit, the app locks. Transcribe a sentence — or do a physical exercise — to continue.

FEATURES

- Daily quotas per app group, enforced with a real lock screen
- Weekly caps (Premium) that also enforce on Android once the week's allowance runs out
- Sleep Lock — apps lock automatically during your bedtime hours
- Site Blocker — block distracting sites by URL pattern (optional, see disclosure below)
- 70+ achievements, streaks, and a Year in Detox summary
- Exercise unlock as an alternative to transcription
- Home screen widget for today's usage at a glance
- 7 languages: Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Spanish, French

PLANS

Free — 2 app groups, daily quotas, basic statistics
Premium — $3.99/month or $29.99/year (about 37% less than monthly)
Lifetime — $79.99, one payment

Premium starts with a 7-day free trial. No card required to try.

PRIVACY

Your installed app list and any URL the Site Blocker checks are processed on your device and never leave it. If you sign in, D.off backs up the last 90 days of your usage records and transcription history to your own account so they survive a phone change — readable only by you. We do not sell data and we do not show ads — the advertising ID permission is explicitly removed from the app.

Accessibility Service disclosure: D.off's optional Site Blocker uses Android's AccessibilityService API. When you enable it, D.off reads only the address-bar URL of supported browsers (Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Opera) to detect websites you added to your own blocklist and automatically navigate back to the previous screen. URL data is processed entirely on your device — it is never stored on our servers, transmitted externally, or shared with third parties. This service is optional; every other D.off feature works without it.

You can also find this app by searching doff or d off. And if what you were looking for is a screen time app with real daily screen quotas, an app timer whose limits actually lock, an app blocker, or a digital detox tool against phone addiction — that is the job D.off does.

• Fixed the progress ring drifting on short exercise clips.
• Improved status bar rendering stability on recent Android versions.
