This is the most fun I've had with coffee since ever! It's such a kick to watch Ember find my mug then find the temperature I like, then keep it hot until I'm done. Customer Service could not be more obliging. Patient and helpful, making sure all my silly questions are answered - quickly and respectfully. Who could ask for more?!
When I first purchased the ember ceramic mug it would not sync then the mug would not charge. Contacted customer support 3 times and nothing worked. Was going to take it back to Starbucks. Then Ember asked me to send them the cup. They prepaid the shipping. Got a new ceramic mug shipped back to me, checked and the app had been updated the same day I received the new mug. Downloaded the update. The new mug paired with the new mug effortlessly. Have been using the new mug for about 3 weeks now and it works perfectly every time. Keeps my coffee at 142 degrees which is perfect for me. Whatever was wrong they have fixed. Love it. Great customer support. Received email within couple days of my contacting them. They paid shipping both ways. Big fan.
Knowing how much I like coffee, my daughter bought me the Ember Mug for Christmas. The product works flawlessly,, both hardware and software wise. The customer service is also excellent. When I contacted the company because the charging coaster wasn't ' working properly, they quickly sent me a new coaster and the problem is totally resolved. Interestingly, I realized for the few days I was without the Ember Mug (cold coffee ) , how much I missed it and what a good product it is. Sincerely , Joe DeAngelis
If you're buying the mug specifically more the app capabilities, don't waste your money. The app will connect fine for the first morning, but then it becomes a try and hope game. No matter what you do, the app says "Can't connect. Make sure your mug is close enough to your device." Sometimes reinstalling the app fixes it. Sometimes resetting the mug. Sometimes unpairing from the device and reconnecting. Most of the time, you'll try all three and none of them work.
This app/mug combination is a nightmare! Had it working at some point after trying several times. Always a bit tricky to reconnect but it usually worked okay. This morning though, no matter what I try it doesn't work. The app deleted my paired mug and can't re-pair it anymore. I am not going to restart my phone and reinstall the app a third time... I don't even know why I'm wasting so much time on this.
The base for the mug randomly stops charging your mug, so 1st thing in the morning it may not be charged or you'll go for a 2nd cup and for no reason it just stops charging. The idea is amazing and I wish it actually did what it says it does but sadly it just causes frustration when you think your coffee is going to be hot and it's completely cold. Knowing you have to microwave your regular mug of coffee or just using a thermos mug is 10x more reliable.
