Emilie Melgaard Jacobsen's meditations are created for you and yours, with a desire to support more calmness and presence.
You cannot use the meditations in a wrong way, but I have some recommendations that you can be inspired by. Under each meditation, it is described which target group the meditation is intended for. However, this is only a guideline.
When you need a meditation for yourself:
See if it is possible to create calm around you. The meditations are downloaded inside the app, so you can set your device to "fly"/"do not disturb" etc.
One way you can "screen off" is to use headphones.
A sleeping mask and a duvet/blanket can be nice when you need to rest.
Tjugga, Ræven sally and the baby meditations can easily be heard by adults - we can all need to create a connection with the inner child.
When you need a meditation for your child:
Avoid having expectations about the child's reaction to the meditations.
Some children find peace with the sounds quickly, others need to hear it several times.
If auditory stimuli are not a match for your child, I can recommend my books with Tjugga the Night Bear, if your child is better with a visual universe.
You can use the "baby meditations" without speech if your child feels more like meditations without a narrator's voice.
Slow down before bedtime/rest time. Try with your body and voice to radiate that you are all entering the "cuddling/resting" zone... even if your child is crawling on the walls/ is overstimulated on top of a day with many impressions. You show the way with your energy. Pat yourself on the back mum/dad, you are doing so well and I know for some how exhausting it can be. That was one of the reasons why I created Tjugga, I was a burnt-out mother who needed support for putting.
You cannot replay a meditation too many times. You do not give your child bad habits by offering security and recognition. Your child needs the familiar and secure. Security gives peace of mind.
I myself have put the meditations on repeat at night when there has been unrest, illness, teething etc.
Recommend babysitters/grandparents/others looking after your child to download the app, so your child always has the safe and familiar with them.
