I initially hesitated due to the cost, but now I realize this is like a better version of two or more field guides that would cost at least that each. I love that I can filter down to my sub-region as that greatly narrows the possibilities. The graphic key is a nice addition to the dichotomous keys (which are also region-filtered!). The one-time purchase entitles you to ongoing updates as work continues on the Flora of Southeastern US. Perfect complement to your favorite AI id app.

Love this app but half the time I use it I am looking for good winter endbud and leaf scar pics for the woody plants and there are rarely if ever any pictures depicting these. frustrating and confounding that they are not automatically included.

Thank you for your review! Due to our small team and the large number of species (10,000 in the region), photo updates are ongoing and released periodically. New photos are coming to this app in March. Could you specify which plant family or genus needs better twig or winter photos? Emailing flora@office.unc.edu will put you in direct contact. Thx!

A really well thought out app. As complete as any reference you can find for Georgia and the Carolinas.

What’s new

Imported 2026 flora.
Fixed emdash encoding that affected 2-4div (2 to 4 times divided) in Fern Graphic Key.
Added a "This key does not yet exist." message for cases where link to key goes nowhere.
