The "S-ID-Check" app is a security tool for using your Sparkassen credit card on the Internet. With one click, you can release payments from online purchases. You can register directly in the app and e.g. Identify via your online banking access at the Sparkasse. If you have installed the "S-ID-Check" app on your mobile device, you will receive a push message in your app when paying online with a credit card. This prompts you to confirm or reject the payment. This ensures that so-called Verified by Visa and MasterCard Identity Check payments are only approved by you (3-D Secure).

An advantage for you: You have your payments under control. You will receive a message when you shop with your Sparkasse credit card at a retailer that offers the 3-D Secure process. You can compare the payment details from the app with the data of your purchase and decide whether the payment can be made or not. So the fraudulent use of your credit card on the Internet is almost impossible. The "S-ID-Check" app offers you maximum security and convenience for your payments on the Internet.

Ratings and reviews

No matter what I do, I am completely unable to buy things with pages that require this app. It's infuriating. Occasionally I'll get a push notification, sometimes I just won't. If I'm very lucky it might even show me my order details in the app, but when I click to confirm nothing happens. Most of the time, when I click on the push notification I just get sent to the regular menu screen. Restarting the app doesn't help. Trying to generate an OTP gives me an error on the website.

The FAQ in the app says "Wenn Sie einmal keine Datenverbindung haben, können Sie Ihre Zahlung mit einem Offline-Passwort freigeben." but this functionality does not exist in the app. There is no way to generate an offline password. Also: most of the time I never get a push notification, so that my credit card is unusable. I have another banking app installed where I always get the notification, so it's not a problem with my phone.

Well, simple would be great, but just leaving out functionality is wrong. After spending weeks to register my data, I never really needed the app - online purchases still worked the same ... hm so where is the additional security? Until today when suddenly I should verify my purchase via the app. Meanwhile the app has forgotten all my credit cards. Reregistration required scanning a qr-code ... which qr-code? This is scary. I am more afraid of being stuck with a transaction in the middle of nowhere ...
