Founded in December 1936, LA NUEVA ESPAÑA, is the leading newspaper in the Principality of Asturias, it was acquired by Prensa Ibérica on April 1, 1984.
With the change of ownership, a process of modernization and growth began that has allowed La Nueva España to become one of the main Spanish newspapers.
The newspaper is headquartered in Oviedo and has newsrooms in Oviedo, Gijón, Mieres and Langreo. New Spain produces seven editions: Oviedo, Gijón, Centro, Avilés, Cuencas, Oriente and Occidente.
